2nd Favorite School?

Talk about the Buckeyes the Wolverines the Hilltoppers the Ducks the Beavers the Chanticleers... or anyone else who isn't BG or an opponent in this forum.

Obviously BG is my #1.

I've always been an OSU fan...Like Saxy I have said for awhile now, "Buckeye by birth, Falcon by Choice" I won't give up my allegiance to OSU, but I'm not as into them as I was before I went to BG.

I root for Louisville because I like to say Louisville (think Tom Jackson on NFL PrimeTime).

When I see 'em on TV I root for Tennessee because I like their colors & their stadium rocks.

I will always root for any team that is coached by Urban Meyer. That guy can flat out coach and he saved my #1 program from the depths of hell.

For hoops I root for the Jayhawks because I had a prof that gave us extra credit for every tourney game they won, I've rooted for them since.

Similar to Urban Meyer I root for any team coached by Roy Williams (now UNC), because the guy is a good coach, glad to see he finally got his championship.

I hate the obvious ones:

scUM
UT
Miami(FL)
FSU
Duke Hoops

Likes:
OSU (somewhat, not as much anymore)
Penn State (Jo Pa is the main reason there)
NIU- now that we're not in the West, they are my favorite West team
Notre Dame- lots of history there
ALMOST any MAC team playing OOC (see dislikes #1 and 2 for exceptions)

Dislikes
Miami (OH)- that entire school could be nuked and I wouldn't shed a tear
Toledo- nuff said
Michigan- kinda born into hating them, not to mention that they have the WORST color scheme, very similar to another ugly team
Kent- my sister is going there
Not to be confused with Poptartin

I grew up as a Michigan fan in Pennsylvania. figure that one out. UM played smashmouth football and since I'm a die-hard steelers fan also, I was naturally drawn to that style of football. Michigan was on ABC almost every saturday growing up so I just became more and more of a fan. Plus I knew some really obnoxious PSU fans (that used to be a bigger rivalry) so hating them became rather easy. So if I had to list my top 5 college football teams...

1. BG
2. UM
3. ASU (I almost went there and I have family in Tempe)
4. Any team playing against florida, florida state, or Miami.
5. The underdog.

Bottom 5

1. OSU -- everyone's discussed the reasons.
2. Toledo -- duh.
3. Arizona -- see #3 above
4. Penn State
5. Michigan State

I also hate the entire ACC in basketball, Kent state's women's b-ball team, soccer in all forms, high-school wrestling, mimes, clowns, and french people.

After BG, I like...

1. MICHIGAN- Ann Arbor boy!!! First home with my wife was in Ann Arbor.
2. CMU- I started college there. It'll always have a place in my heart.
3. Indiana- My spose is seriously considering there for her PhD.

Schools I hate...

1. "The" Ohio State University- If for no other reason (and trust me I've got plenty) than the fact that they INSIST on placing the word "the" in front of their school name.
2. Toledo- Because they're a disgrace to the colors of Blue and Gold.
3. Notre Dame- Sorry Saxy.
4. Miami (OH)- The rivalry will be renewed!

Let's not forget that if any of my top teams plays BG, I'm wearing Orange and Brown.

My all time favorite school is:
Lehigh University (athletics, and academics)

Tied for second place is:
University of Pittsburgh
La Salle University

The best school I have visited, and been to a football game is:
Notre Dame - Spend a Fall Saturday in South Bend, go to all the morning festivities throughout the campus (the band plays their halftime show in front of one of the academic buildings, the Irish Guard is impressive, bagpipes are playing, lots of food for sales by different on-campus clubs, visit the Grotto, the chapel, and other buildings. I have been to 3 ND games in South Bend. It is an experience you won't get tired of. Sometimes I cheer for them, sometimes I don't.

Schools I shed no tears for when they lose no matter what the sport:
Lafayette College
Penn State

Yeah as an Irish Catholic boy I probably should have had ND on my lists too but we have had sort of a falling out over the past few seasons, due primarily to their boneheaded hiring/firing.

The best part about attending ND football games is the pep rally the night before in the BB arena. Especially back when Lou Holtz was the coach. All the things you mentioned are great. I enjoyed going more before the addition to the stadium. I don't know why but probably because they were actually good then.

1. NOTRE DAME
2. NOTRE DAME
3. NOTRE DAME

5. Ohio U. (Moreso a hatred for Tim O'Shea and all that military republican crap around the basketball team, and O'Shea is basically just an a$$hole, it doesn't help he is from Boston Coll.)
6. BOSTON COLLEGE, Miami and VT for ruining the Big East (now we have South Florida and Cincinnati ::puke:: )
7. Georgetown (Cheaters)
8. St. John's (Thugs)

My #1 is Bowling Green.

My #2 is whoever is playing Turdledo.

I do like Coach Fisher DeBerry and the Air Force Falcons. Flordia Gators? Yeah, my uncle was the dean of housing at UF for many years so I have an interest in the Gators...with or without Urban.

#1 hated team? Obvious answer here. The school up I 75.

Outside of Mother Miami, I think BG maybe a favorite, but I love the Vols. Wanted to go to school there, but was forbidden, kinda like going to UofM. Becoming a Wolverine woulda meant being disowned by the family. Goofy, might I know this Miami girl? Just wondering....

Oh Rocky Top you'll always be home, sweet home to me! Good ole Rocky Top, Rocky Top Tennessee!(And that isn't even their REAL fight song... I only ahve part of Down the Field memorized...)

No bringing that Tennessee crap to a thread started by a UK student. I would hate to have to make you listen to me sing the fight song, or worse, My Old Kentucky Home

On, on, U of K, we are right for the fight today,
Hold that ball and hit that line;
Ev'ry Wildcat star will shine;
We'll fight, fight, fight, for the blue and white

Mother Miami's a whore.

Seriously, she is. Got her number from a truck stop restroom and everything.

Why do you like AF??

As an Air Force member even I can't stand the cheating the cadets get away with. Steroid use, rape, etc. The Air Force Academy is a waste of tax payers money.
