Sorry to be harping on the Olympics. I agree it has lost its luster here in the States, since they are so many other major sports here. But in other parts of the world, it is still so very huge. Some other countries celebrate in the streets when that 14 year old Romanian, Hungarian, or whatever wins the gold! I wish we still had that patriotism for the Olympics here in the States, but fact is most people don't give a crap here anymore :) Okay sorry now back to Football :)

It's not that I don't give a crap. It's just that I don't like Track & Field or Swimming. Gymnastics I'll watch a little because the strength in those guys is unbelievable, and some of the girls are cute ;) (The ones that are 18 of course). I like to watch the hoops a little, although I liked it better w/o the pros.

If they showed the baseball, I'd watch it. If they showed the Table Tennis, I'd watch it. If they showed the Judo, I'd probably watch it. Diving, Tennis, Boxing, Badminton, etc I would probably watch. I guess its not the olympics I hate as much as it is the American TV coverage. They only show events that the US is good in, and they ignore the other events. I'm patriotic, and always root for my country, but why must we only watch the events where we know we'll likely medal? Swimming & Track are our two best summer events and I find them incredibly boring. Worst of all there are about forty million of them. Watching 8 people swim against one another to me is the same thing no matter what stroke or distance they're going. Watching guys run is the same to me no matter what distance they're going, and it's BORING.

Now the winter olympics I LOVE! Luge, Bobsledding, Hockey, Downhill skiing, Moguls, Freestyle, Ski Jump, all are cool as hell.

I used to LOVE watching the Olympics...and even went to Montreal in '76 with my family for the Summer Games.

But all this professionalism and advertising has ruined it for me. I'd much rather watch the Winter Games than Summer Games.

Now, its all COLLEGIATE sports for me! And High School.

Lord Byron,
See you on the dark side of the moon. Nice avatar.
