Hello Falcons... Boise fan checking in! (WARNING: LONG)

Post by 1boisebro »

many of us in boise are thrillscared to play you guys next year, and i'm one of 'em. frankly, you may well be the best team we play all season! thrilled because you're one hell of a tough team, and scared because you're one hell of a tough team.

but i'm certain of one truth: your QB will be the best we face all year.

i saw your team play a couple times last year and was floored by omar. forget his athleticism for a second -- his intelligence and command of the field was outstanding, and the numbers he put up supported that excellence. i look forward to seeing him on the blue next year!

a little personal background:

i'm from the midwest, grew up in northern wisconsin and am a huge badger fan. that said, i think you'll take care of my badgers next year in camp randall. seriously.

i watched as many wisconsin games as i could over the last few years, and last year's team overachieved. i think next year's will be a work in progress, and i think you guys will win. i just don't see wisconsin's defense being able to stop your offense enough for the badger offense to keep up.

but back to Boise State...

10 years ago i moved to boise, and have become a die-hard BSU fan and season ticket holder. as much as i love the state of wisconsin, i'm in boise to stay.

our game (BSU/BGSU) is my most anticipated for two reasons.

1) your team is top-notch, especially with omar at the reins.
2) it's our first home game, and the way Bronco fans tailgate makes this Packer fan proud! i can't wait! in fact, i'm tailgating right now... without the tailgate... or the fans... :? or game... :(

anyway, i think our teams are eerily similar, and i look forward to an incredible game. i'll be there for sure, and i hope many of you can make the trip. boise is a beautiful city, and for those of you who can come, i hope you stop by our tailgate and say hello.

until then, please stop by www.broncocountry.com and say hello, too. frankly, we're getting tired of the elitist georgia fans telling us what a cute little program we have and how they're going to destroy us like rosanne barr on a cake. it would be great to get some dialog with fans who can talk about football without bringing up tradition and facilities and size of their running backs' jocks.

thanks for letting me post, and have a great summer!!

Welcome aboard!! I was trying to weasel my way into Boise for this year's game, but the shift to midweek brought those plans to a screeching halt.

I can't think of another game that has the potential for offensive fireworks that BGSU/Boise State does. I hope your facilities manager has stocked up on bulbs for the scoreboard...

You know I was a little skeptical when I was writing that. For good reason.

Thanks for stopping by.

Nice to see that BSU and BGSU are finally meeting. I know quite a few fans from both sides have always speculated on how this game might go and now we are going to find out.

My boss...well not really boss anymore, but co-worker graduated from Boise State. I had printed out a BG schedule and pinned it up in my office. He was using my office and highlighted the BSU game. So this is going to be an interesting game.

I might actually make the trip to Boise, but the wife will be pretty far along (pregnant) and I doubt I will get to make the trip from Colorado, but I would love to tailgate with some pros!

Boise St. is so awesome why do we have to play them? why cant we play someone like Nebraska or Alabama, not really complaining but i wish we would play teams with big names that suck, instead of a little named schools that are more than lidgit!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

Are you kidding me? Have you payed attention to college football at all over the last few years? Have you ever turned on your TV in December, and thought you had to adjust the color on the screen?

Boise St. isn't exactly a small name in the college football world anymore. Sure, they don't have the tradition of a Nebraska or Bama, but they can put up the points with the best of 'em, and give ANY school a run for their money. What do you think the average Badger fans are saying about us? Probably the same thing, that "they're a MAC school, we'll kill them." The informed fan knows what they're in for. This is going to be an amazing game.

Maggot nothing against you of course, but I might just have to print out your avatar and take a piss on it. Yeah yeah i know he turned our program around. Save it, the guy is prick. He refers to us as a "truckstop" basically.

Actually, judging by one of their boards, many of them have been quite respectful.

http://mb7.scout.com/fwisconsin36703frm ... 1979.topic

Charlie Frye and the Akron Zips made them very nervous two years ago.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=232490275

Midway through the fourth, with Wisconsin ahead 34-31, Akron drove to the Badger one, but couldn't punch it in.

Wisconsin tossed a 99-yard touchdown pass on the next play and got another touchdown later to make it look silly. But it wasn't.

Wisconsin fans who are paying attention realize we are better than Akron -- and they also know they have some holes to fill.

Geeez Kdog, I thought Ovenmit added a great element of surprise on our sidelines- his headset was reason enough not to run him out of town!!!

You know I loved chatting with the Memphis fans, they love their program, but can be respectful of others and just have a great time. I'm starting to think that these Boise fans might be every bit as nice and fun. Thanks for stopping by!
