So who had the sign at Gameday last year?

It was a big hit. Over at Miamihawktalk, they can't stop talking about it.

Yesterday after the game I was at a party and there were tons of people wearing BG clothes and talking about Ohio State and how great they are. I made a comment like once again they got lucky. One nerd actually wanted to start a fight because I said that. The groups response was who's your favorite team. My response, um...Bowling Green. They look at me and roll their eyes like it wasn't an acceptable answer.

EVERYONE should be excited above and beyond what any other team is doing, no matter who they are or how long you've been a fan.
I will second that

I can't take credit for the "Go Football" sign being my idea though I wish I could

I won't think less of people for being fans of other schools.

However its the OSU fan mentality that they aren't lucky that I find funny.

In any case I'm glad they didn't let Marshall win. I'm not interested in having some short-timer become the MAC team to beat them. I'd rather that be the Falcons in a few years.

Presently Marshall is on my UT list of places on this earth I wish bad things for.

Good or bad, I consider them a CUSA team right now.

Able1 -- Just wanted to tell you that I am an OSU grad who loves the Buckeyes AND the Falcons. I do agree with you 100% that there are some OSU fans that make us all look bad. I really am guessing these types of fans did not attend or graduate from OSU because anyone who has actually graduated from the school would respect all opponents from all conferences and wouldn't want to do or say anything that would cause people to think so negatively of the school. I am guessing by all the venom on this board against OSU that the bad OSU fans are the ones that have been encountered by them, as opposed to people like myself and hammb. Most people already know this, but Michelle and I have season tickets, we're Falcon Club members, and we almost never miss a home football game. We're also heading to some away games. In the winter we'll head to some hockey and men's and women's basketball games. We may go to a couple baseball games in the spring. I'll cut myself off here. I just wanted to illustrate that not all of us (OSU Grads/Fans) are jerks, but that I undertand your point because some OSU fans are jerks and they give the rest of us who respect other schools and teams a bad image. And I realize you weren't making a blanket indictment of all OSU fans, just the idiots who don't respect other teams and their fans.

Hammb -- You're correct, too. It's a losing battle here (liking OSU). I normally don't bring anything up, and if I see a thread where OSU is being bashed vociferously, as is usually the case, I just move onto the next thread. I figure this board is to promote Bowling Green, not bash other schools. If the thread isn't promoting BG, I move to one that is. My feeling is that BGSU has enough tradition and great accomplishments that I don't have to bash another school to make BG look better. The school, the traditions, and the accomplishments of Bowling Green State University speak for themselves.

BGBrandon -- No need to apologize to everyone for liking OSU ... it's not a sin or anything.

NWLB -- I think Ohio State has been lucky. They make plays, but how many teams can be -7 in the turnover ratio and still be 2-0? I'm obviously glad Ohio State beat Marshall. If and when Ohio State drops one to a MAC school, I want it to be against Bowling Green. If BG would have won last year, I definitely could have lived with it. I went to that game in an OSU jersey and one of my Bowling Green ball hats. I got some funny looks and some good-natured ribbing from some buddies. They know Michelle and I are huge Falcon fans, too. I am glad Ohio State plays MAC schools from Ohio. I would just as soon see Ohio State make out that visiting team check to an Ohio School than to bring in some west coast team like San Jose State or San Diego State. I've actually been hoping that some of these MAC schools decide they don't want to play OSU so BG can play them more often than once every six seasons or so.
