The Doyt is not a dump....it isn't a palace either. Basically, the only thing that has changed since the day it was completed are the lights. It looks the same thru the years. But, in today's world of college football, we need to improve it.

Like Nathan said, it is a GREAT place to watch a game. There are very few poor seats.
Yes the concession areas need to be moved. The point redskins4ever made about the entrances are true. There are just 4 tunnels that lead into the stadium on each side. Congestion is all over. I sincerely believe that the Sebo Center is just the beginning. Krebs and Co. realize we need to improve facilites and more will come. We can only do so much on a limited budget. I'd love to be able to donate huge sums of jack but it isn't possible on a limited family budget. IF I ever win the powerball, the first $10 Mil is going to BGSU. :D

Yes the place needs work and can be better. But it is still a great place to watch a game and I love the place.

The old Cleveland Stadium was a dump but that didn't stop 70,000+ from going in every week...sometimes with a pretty sorry product on the field.
The Glass Bowl is nice except on the visitor side. That is a dump under those bleachers. And talk about congestion,

Ohio's, IMO, is the nicest stadium in the MAC followed by Miami. CMU is nice and so are WMU and EMU. EMU looks too bland with all the concrete but it's a nice structure. The only MAC stadium I haven't seen in person is NIU's. Kent's is basically a ripoff of our's on one side...there isn't anything great about the Rubber Bowl. Buffalo has a real nice stadium except for those end zone bleachers in Niagara.

Perry Stadium will be improving every year now...hey, we finally got the rails painted last year!

The nicest stadium in the MAC is a no brainer. The Temple Owls have it with Lincoln Financial Field.

Go Falcons.

The Doyt certainly has its issues. They've been listed countless times, most of them in this thread already.

That said, as long as we've still got real grass we will have a better stadium than all those MAC stadiums that don't, IMO.

maybe someone could post pictures of the stadiums here....

I think my list is this...
1a)Temple
1)OhioU(Peden has the age, the facilities/sorta, and the character)
2)NIU(The stadium is tops for the style, and facilites are AMAZING)
3)Miami(Sorry, not homering or whatever you call it, with all the improvements, it is amazing.)
4)UT
5)CMU
6)WMU
7)BG(After the SEBO, it will HAVE Character, wins and setting make it unique)
8)EMU
9)Buffalo
10)Akron
11)Kent

I was pleasantly surprised by Yager in 2003. A lot of little things make it really nice, including the concessions.

But Field Turf as an asset?

If you can't have grass, I suppose it beats Astroturf...

I agree. The way they can use the popcorn machines to cut 2, 3 minutes off the game clock is ingenious!!!

Miami's motto is... anyone, anywhere, anytime...

Hey that was a great BG team... BG deserved a better bowl opponent and so did Miami... oh well...

Omar has been giving me nightmares since his first game last year vs. OU... and we haven't seen him yet...

Im going to go vomit now.

Finally! A rational Redhawk fan! I've been periodically checking in on MHT.com and I am always amazed at all of the people on there trying to claim that Betts is anywhere near the same caliber as Omar. Betts is a decent quarterback, don't get me wrong. If it weren't for Omar and Bruice-Bruce, he would be the best quarterback in the conference; however, Omar broke the NCAA record for touchdown/interception ratio last year and is being touted as, perhaps, the best NFL quarterback prospect in college football right now on the merit of his performance as a red-shirted sophpomore first-year starter. That's just dilusional in my opinion. I'm not going to say that we will waltz into Oxford and blow away Miami next year by any means. But, if (and I stress "if") we do get beaten, it will not be because Betts is a superior quarterback...

**Disclaimer** - Before I start getting ripped by my Redhawk friends, I'm not saying that all Miami fans are saying this -- just a lot more than I would expect amongst a group of semi-intelligent people.

Not saying it did. We got our seats handed to us twice.

I just think any claims to a superior stadium should include a game clock that works on occasion.

Ahem... BG vs. NIU earlier that same season??? Someone was having their own issues with the stadium clock....

Hello Kettle, my name is Pot!

I dont think there are many Miami fans who would take Josh over Omar. They like Josh because he has a bigger arm then what Ben Did... but then again a Big arm doesn't necessarily get you bigger results. Ryan Henry had a tremendous are as did Derek Kidwell and neither could slow down their fastballs enough to reach their highest level of production at the College level.

So long as Josh never puts his team on his back to win a game, he will be fine. We have other players that have that ability not josh....

Omar... Omarvelous Omar... the "Orange One"... as I might have to refer to him, has great vision, great touch, but I do not know about the deep ball. However, you don't need a deep pass to win in college football, nor do you need it in this offense. A 20 yard slant route and hitting your guy in stride will result in huge gains.

As for the rest of Miami's team... I think we are both blinded by the WR talent for both sides... but what is funny is what the Posionous Nuts fans think is just an OK Miami team going into the shoe. I have seen BG and Miami on the brink of upsets get housed by the Big 10 refs... and one of these days one of us is going to punish the boys in Cbus and make them cry to their mommies!

If the spring game is any indication, the rest of the MAC is going to know all they care to about Omar and the deep ball. Both Omar and Turner were very effective going downfield.

The upside to losing Magner, Hawkins and McGrady is that the guys who are replacing them (artridge, Alexander, Jones and Lett) are noticeably faster. This will give Omar the tools to stretch the defense even more.

Whoa. That isn't milk on your Corn Flakes, is it? I still contend there's a big difference between a clock that won't start/stop and one that magically skips a minute or two.
