Coach Brandon may not have any say in the matter. Since the young man has been charged with possession, the University is probably going to make the decision as to whether or not his offer of admission will be revoked. I'm sure the Counsel's Office, University Police, and Judicial Affairs are reviewing the matter.

Rumor has it that he'll be suspended for at least 2 practices.....(OK, bad joke).....
I don't want to see this kid on the team, no matter how good he is...or could've been.... prior post said it best; it taints ALL BG players if we sit back and do nothing...Admittedly, he has rights to a fair hearing and trial (hopefully not in mayor's court)...another bad joke.... but we don't need this stuff creeping thru the program...if this is what it takes to have a top 25 team, then I'll settle for unranked, but honest.

I'm with you Den. Couldn't agree more. These are serious charges, 7 felonies. Very unfortunate.Class of 61 wrote:Rumor has it that he'll be suspended for at least 2 practices.....(OK, bad joke).....

On a semi-unrelated note:
I really don't like the mom/mayor's stance at the end of that article at all. "This is why people don't want to serve"??? Boo hoo lady. Your kid f'ed up. To an extent, YOU f'ed up as a parent. Maybe its just me, but someone could be the janitor's kid and if he's charged with this many FELONIES that affect the community (do YOU want a kid dealing a drug buffet around your kid's school?), its going to get noticed. Especially when he's the star of the football team in a smaller town.
Sure, its less likely to include the parent's name in an article, but don't come whining to me because YOUR kid got caught.

Yeah. He's enrolled at UT as a STUDENT. He's paying tuition, and has done NOTHING to associate himself with the football team.duckunder53 wrote:Does the former Mr. Football in Ohio ring a bell? He's now enrolled at UT and he was associated with getting one of his friends killed.
I do agree that you shouldn't grant athletic scholarships to kids who have serious incidents like this in their past. However, to deny them an opportunity for an education, that they're paying for, seems stupid to me.
