Anderson Arena rumors

Post by golfertk14 »

I'm all in favor for building a new arena for the basketball team, I'm just wondering if they would tear down the AA to make room. Has anyone heard a follow-up to that article about the new arena in the Toledo Blade?

They will not tear down AA. It is attached to Memorial Hall which houses classrooms and the ROTC program.

Exactly, and the size they need for a new place is much larger than the space AA would leave. (Provided they leave that parking lot alone.) Although, if they move ROTC to the convocation center, when built, raze Anderson, and they can run that parking lot all the way up to BA/Olscamp, and maybe even wind some of it in through in front of the library. I mean, who needs green space, anyway?

To hell with that parking lot, that just means we can have an even B!GGER Enrollment Services Complex for the Office of Admissions!

I totally agree transfer, the "Overflow" Parking lot seems like a waste of land. I know you might need some of it for the football games, but let's get real-you don't need all of it.

Actually Cane, I would take that commuter lot behind the health center and tear out the pavement, resod it, and give it to the Marching Band for a practice field. I would then take that plot of land out by Poe Rd and Mercer Rd and make it into a commuter parking lot. We can make it a very large lot with even more parking spaces than are in that lot behind the health center. Then maybe students would quit complaining about never being able to find any parking spaces.

This also provides additional parking in the vicinity of the football stadium in case we were to ever need the additional parking after the stadium, ice arena, and field house lots filled completely.

wait till August

According to the Toledo Blade, we will find out if we will be getting a new convocation center or if there will be plans to renovate AA. I hope we get a new convo because AA well, is garbage.

Yeah I should always count on the Blade for facts but the possibilty for new information on the convocation center is likely since we will be in school.
