Headline on USCHO says Coach York has been diagnosed with prostrate cancer. I'd expect that every member of the BG hockey family ought to offer our support and prayers.

I saw that. There's already a thread on USCHO about it. I wonder if he reads that?

Sounds like they found it in time, but still a scary proposition. Here's to a quick recovery for Coach York!

While the games get a little "meaningless" in situations like these, I *really* hope he's behind the bench or at least able to make the trip on October 15!

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

You were not even an idea when BG won the National Championship. How do you know he was a great coach. York has not been at BG now in 11 years. That means you were about 6 when he was coaching here. I am sure you were not a hockey fan, let alone a BG Hockey fan when you were 6 yr old. But yes he is a good coach. I know that because I was here when he was the coach.

Aren't you being a tad bit harsh? Check the quote again...he said he IS a great a coach, which he still is as evidenced by his recent BC teams.

My Bad. I retract what I said, I read his post wrong.
