Does anyone remember in Urban's second year on his tv show "falcon football with urban meyer" Urban beginning to talk about recruiting and then saying well I really can't comment. He said that there was a receiver coming in to here that 2 years ago would never look at BG. I think back to this and I believe he may have been talking about Greg Hutcherson? Any help on this would be appreciated............this just shows what a crap-shoot recruiting is if this was the case.
thanks for your help........jsut one of those things you think about I guess

Re: Who has a good memory?
The WR would likley be a junior or red-shirt sophomore from somewhere outside of what was our traditional recruiting area, so yeah Hutcherson kind of fits that bill.04forheisman wrote:Does anyone remember in Urban's second year on his tv show "falcon football with urban meyer" Urban beginning to talk about recruiting and then saying well I really can't comment. Sadly, I don't know if this is going to be true. Chuck and Steve were pretty stellar last year and Magner was no chump either playing through his foot injuries. Yet none of them touched the All-MAC receivers list. With the way we dish around the ball and share the love, maybe some of the great receiver recruits might not be happy with getting "only" 700-1000 yards and instead go to Ball State (ala Dante) and get 1500 because everyone else in the corp sucks?
Luckily, this effect hasn't appeared to dog us yet with the excellent spring showings of Luke and Cory, but if our receivers don't start to get some recognition for their superior abilities, I fear they might start looking to other schools where they might shine more.

There is a thread on jjhuddle.com saying that Fred Davis, the number one reciever out of high school a couple of years ago from Toledo Rogers, is supposedly trying to transfer to Ohio State. If he was smart, he would go to Bowling Green and catch passes from our stellar quarterbacks in our stellar system. If Omar doesn't stay, which will probably be the case, then he'll have Turner to toss him the ball. Turner looked great in the spring game. It was reported on there that Davis' high school coach said he'd like to come back closer to home. If anyone knows Davis, they should put in a good word for BG, lol. I'd love to see someone of his size and ability catching balls at BGSU!
