Wow, very nice Metz!!! Did you take that photograph, it is sharp. How did you get the font/what is the font? (I'd love to have it....)

Damn, I miss my Photoshop :-( My computer currently won't boot up, it says I need the Windows CD to install a missing directory or something, thing is I don't quite have an XP CD because the gentleman that built my computer, well yeah, you know. . .

FWIW, if you purchase any piece of hardware you can now purchase an OEM version of XP. You'll save a lot of money that way. It's always a good idea to own it....especially when you're having problems.

BOWLING GREEN UNIVERSITY?

I don't know if the Athletic Dept. told them to put that or not, but I don't like it. It'd be like putting Ohio University on the Buckeyes National Championship trophy.

If Miami and Toledo can leave the "state" out so can we. Personally, I like Bowling Green University better.

yeah BGU doesn't bother me that much. It's actually what ESPN usually puts up for our score abbreviation when our games are carried.

What really pisses me off is when idiots like bob davie keep drawling about "Bowling Green State". Bowling green state university is ok, but saying bg state makes us sound like a community college in my opinion.

Yeah I took the photo and that would be the "Falcon" font. However, I don't actually have the font, I just traced the letters in Illustrator from logos and what not.

Ick.

I prefer just "Bowling Green."

If someone like Bob Davies is going to say "Bowling Green State," well, I understand why he does, and it doesn't bother me that much.

"Bowling Green University" is like nails on a chalkboard. It ain't the name.

Agreed.

Ohio University. Ohio State. That's two different schools.
Bowling Green University. Bowling Green State. Ditto.

I remember hearing a few years ago that Kent State actually put out a press release of some kind stating that they were either to be called Kent State University or simply Kent. I never actually saw it, but a trusted member of the media I knew told me.

Well, our school is "Bowling Green State Univeristy." (The) Ohio State University is called "Ohio State" for short, Michigan State University is called "Michigan State" for short, so I don't understand what is idiotic about calling us "Bowling Green State."

I'm much more bothered by "Bowling Green University." Like it or not, that isn't our school's name. Therefore, I dislike when ESPN uses the "BGU" abreviation.

Nothing idiotic about it. Our official name is Bowling Green State University. It is the usual sportswriter style to simply drop the "University."

We are resisting it by projecting "Bowling Green."

Most people are going along with "Bowling Green," and that's good. But it inevitably leads to...
I'm much more bothered by "Bowling Green University."
When people hear "Bowling Green," they assume "State" isn't in our name. That's how they come up with "Bowling Green University."

I kinda like Bowling Green State University... it rolls off the tongue.

As for messing it up on the trophies, can't the U have them changed?
