Since I haven't yet seen the BG videoboard in use, disregard this idea if we are actually doing this already (but I doubt we are). After watching Virginia's starting player introductions for their videoboard, I thought how cool it would be to do this for BG too.
When UVa announces the Cavaliers starting lineups on offense and defense before the game on the videoboard, they play the Monday Night Football theme song in the background and have action video headshots with the players introducing themselves like they do on MNF. For example, for Omar Jacobs, it would show a taped headshot of him saying ... "Omar Jacobs ... quarterback ... Delray Beach, Florida ... Atlantic Community." And so and and so forth. They do this for all 11 starters on both sides of the ball. The background behind the players is a blue coloring with video images, or the school or team logos, similar to what they do on TV.
It's a very cool looking intro and the fans love it. Just like on MNF, some players are very modest and some kind of spice it up. It's just another adopted idea.
