Piecing Together The 2005-2006 Schedule

Post by BGSU33 »

According to Bradley, we are playing there on December 3rd at 7:00 PM. That would be the second game of a 2-for-1 that we have with the Braves. I also know we play at Arkansas–Little Rock for a return game from the Bracket Buster last year. Didn't we also agree on more future games with Detroit last season? If so, we should continue that trend with a home game against Detroit. You can almost bet on it that we will have a non D-I team at home. We could also be possibly be playing in a tournament at another school, or an event in Hawaii or Alaska. Outside of that, any other ideas?

So far, here's my guess at it:

@ Bradley
@ Arkansas–Little Rock
Detroit
Non D-I
GO BG!!!

33, I would surely look for home games with our two Michigan connections- Detroit and Oakland. Coaches Watson and Kampe like to play the Falcons- and vice a versa.

Go Falcons!

I don't think so....

Coach Dakich detailed some of the upcoming non-conference opponents in his blog from a while back, Florida State and South Alabama look to be for sure, and he mentioned Virginia Tech. That list definitely sounds more exciting than Bluffton.

I think getting into some exempt events is smart. Adding games when we are as young as we are will help them to mature, and help us finish hard at the Gund.

I couldn't agree more! I think we had to few of games last year before the start of MAC play and when it arrived, it took us a few games to get it together.

Thanks for the info about the DD blog that mentioned our schedule possibilities. With that said, if those things work out, we are possibly looking at something like this so far:

@ Bradley
@ Arkansas–Little Rock
Detroit
vs. Florida State
@ Virginia Tech
vs. Western Carolina/Radford/Princeton
GO BG!!!

It'd be nice to get at least one more home game.

How great would it be to have FSU at AA? I know they're not all that great at basketball, but it'd be nice knocking of a school with the kind of tradition that the 'Noles have.

Coming from an ACC fan, Florida State is going to be tough...look for them to finish in the top half of the ACC this year, after two great recruiting classes. They always give Duke, Unc, Wake, etc a run for their money. They should make it to the NCAA tourny this year.

It would be nice to see BG play Cincinnati. Playing the Bearcats would toughen us up for league play.

It's been a few weeks since this was last talked about.......any more news or rumors as to who else we might be playing this year? The schedules should be finalized in the middle of August. I think this is what we're thinking it will look like so far:

@ Bradley
@ Arkansas – Little Rock
@ Virginia Tech
vs. Florida State
vs. Western Carolina/Radford/Princeton
Detroit
GO BG!!!
