First off, what makes you think LeFeld is even going to get to play at all? maybe you should have said there is no one for him to be the back up to. :o

Anyway, Ohio's top six scorers from last year go 6'4", 6'5", 6'8", 6'3", 6'6", and 6'6". Why do you think they would be able to feast on us in the post?

Center is the of little concern to me. This is the MAC. If a guy is 6'10" and can walk and chew gum at the same time, he gets a scholly to a "big" school. Any guys with good size in the MAC are projects and take a few years to even make a difference. I would rather see us play a couple of smaller (6'6"-6'8") guys who have some skillz then just sticking a 6'10" guy out there because of his size.

I would argue that this is more Lamonta Stone's class than it is Dakich's though.

Oh...I see...and if the team doesn't do well, will we be calling for Stone's head?

It's DD's program, he gets the credit for the positives and he gets the blame if things don't go well.

You know, I read Option's post last night and decided not to jump on it right away. Assembling a good staff that can help the program is one of his jobs.

I would argue that Moses Malone is responsible for this class and Dakich has nothing to do with it. After all, Malone spent three years playing for the 76ers with Marc Iavaroni, a former assistant coach at BG. If Iavorini never left BG, then maybe Stone would not be here. While Lamonta has spent all his time concentrating on this class and BG hoops, Dakich has done nothing but hang out with Norm Wamer and talk up the food at Al-Mar Lanes. Dakich should be fired immediately and forced to move to Quebec. Then BG should make Lamonta Stone king and bring in Moses "Fo-Fo-Fo" Malone as a special assistant.

I'll eat my words on saying that we wouldn't get Brian Moten. I'm though surprised still. We did apear to get an amazing steal from Virgina no less. Wow! This class has me uberhyperbolic! Can't wait until the season starts! Its unreall that media outlet gave us a #40 in the nation recruiting class rating! That never happens as far as I know. :D Yes, now the test is whether they stay here and finish out the college basketball here in BG. If we can do that , that will be almost a huge feat in itself. If this class is very quick and athletic then maybay we can go without a real big center backup for Lefeld. If Illinios can do, than I guess it can be done if you got plenty of talent at enough postions.

Well this class is enough to get me excited for BG hoops again! :)

I heard about the Moten thing awhile ago, and its great that its finally gone public and everyone can now revel in the joy!

I see what Option's saying about backup Center, but I think we can survive in the MAC without a strong inside presence. College hoops is a game for the guards, and guards are what carry you come postseason. It looks like we've finally assembled a group of athletes who can create their own shots and also defend some of the good 2-3 guys in the MAC.

I do wish we would've gotten one more true PG though. Floyd is best served as a backup, and Moon needed a lot of improvement based on last season's play. He's got the quicks to eventually become a starter, but I'm not sold, and wouldn't want all my PG eggs in that basket. Here's hoping he has made that leap forward, because I just don't see upside potential in Floyd.

Not that my comments need justification, but I'm bored so here we go . . .

I will give LaMonta Stone credit for the kids from the Detroit Catholic and Public Leagues since that is relatively unchartered water for us.

I'm sure that Coach Dakich was instrumental in recruiting these kids, however, I feel LaMonta Stone is being vastly overlooked. Regardless of who recruited them though, it's still Dan's job to get them to play together and eventually stay.

As far as the comment on Lefeld not starting at center. Perhaps. That would be an intriguing lineup with what a 6-7 Freshman (Marshall, Holland, Dusan) at center or a 6-6 Senior (Mawi).

Eventually Miami's lack of a post presence did them in and eventually it will cost us more games than it will win as well, at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

This team looks competitive on paper. But the game is played on the court. Time will tell how DD uses the talent he has. Thats my concern.

That was interesting reading. We were all so hopeful before the season started. Now - is another story. Along with interesting, we might want to add depressing.
