If my memory is correct, the bleachers from the south side of old Falcon Field (along with the lights) were donated to BG High School back in 1965 or 1966. I believe they are still in use.duckunder53 wrote:I heard something today about that high school that purchased the bleachers. Something about the fact that they're not sure if their insurance will cover the use of them since it won't be an original structure. Kind of odd. Not sure how true this is, but it seemed odd to me.
Any more progress on the bleachers coming down?

As I was returning to town today there was a crane in the North endzone removing the frame of the bleachers. They are now a thing of the past. And we can move on to bigger and better things.

Thanks for the update. That's good news, hopefully they'll be breaking ground very soon! It's the Journey... wrote:As I was returning to town today there was a crane in the North endzone removing the frame of the bleachers. I agree, but it helps me visualize what will replace them

Yeah I posted this in another thread, but BLECHERS are gone and a crane is in the endzone. I am going to drive through their later this morning to see what it looks like. Due to firework preperations yesterday I was not able to drive close enough to see what else has been done. It does look odd looking from Wooster and looking through the whole field.
Thanks for the pictures. I agree, the stadium does look weird.....and what's even more weird is that right now – we don't have any end zone seating. But I know that's only temporary and that the SEBO is going to be awesome when it's finished! I also thought I saw something mentioned about a small section of seats going back into the south end zone again in the future? Is that correct?
GO BG!!!
I haven't heard anything about south end seating but that doesn't mean anything. But I'm not sure that I'd consider the north endzone seating that will be added with the SEBO as significant. From what I understand it will only be large enough to hold the band and that's it. (250 -300 maybe at most) That doesn't mean that it can't or won't be expanded in the future.BGSU33 wrote:Thanks for the pictures. The Sebo Center is going to be a great addition to the stadium. However, it is just too bad we are losing so much seating. I think it would be more practical to enclose the north endzone with additional seating connecting the east and west stands and building the Sebo Center behind the seating. very similar to what Baylor and Marshall did. There may come a time when we will need more seating, but will be unable due to the structure of the Sebo Center!

We could build a bowl in the south endzone and I doubt there is any real limit to the size of the decks that could be added along each sideline.Dr. Bucko wrote:The Sebo Center is going to be a great addition to the stadium. If we ever truly reach a point where the Sebo Center limits our ability to expand the stadium -- we'll just tear the damn thing down. Because, at that point, we'd have over 60,000 seats at least -- and the gross on that would be more than enough to pay for the demolition.
My take, anyway.

I agree. I was going to post something similar, but you beat me to it.Schadenfreude wrote:We could build a bowl in the south endzone and I doubt there is any real limit to the size of the decks that could be added along each sideline.Dr. Bucko wrote:The Sebo Center is going to be a great addition to the stadium.
