Detroit Pistons

Well not sure if many of you have been following the Larry Brown saga, but this is what I am thinking is happening, and I actually discussed this yesterday with a few radio talk shows in Motown and they did not even think about it.

Ok, Larry Brown lawyer met yesterday with Joe Dumars to discuss Larry Brown's health staus. From the meeting yesterday it was not clear if Larry was coming back or not. However, I think this is a ploy from Larry Brown. If Larry Brown leaves now and gives them an honest answer, Detroit could them go after Nate McMillian or Flip Saunders, two high well known / well respected coaches. However, it has been reported that Milwaukee, Seattle and Portland all want to name their coaches by the end of the week, NY is a different story. Isaih Thomas may wait another month. Anyways, Portland is interested in Porter, Seattle wants to resign McMillian and Milwaukee is interested in Saunders (Flip has a home less than 2 hrs from Milwaukee).

So here is my thinking. If Larry waits until after the other teams hire their coaches and then says, Oh I can't coach, but I am going to be the President of Operations at Cleveland, he basically won. If you know your not going to back coaching the Pistons, and going to a different team in the same Division, would you want a high caliber coach in Detroit. NO. With him waiting, I think he is wanting the other teams to take away a possible could replacement coach from Detroit where then Detroit would have to settle for someone less that possibly could not lead them as well as a Flip Saunders or Nate McMillian. Just my though. I bet if Flip and Nate were already not available yesterday, I bet Larry would have told the Pistons he would not be back. I do not think he is coming back. I think he just wants Detroit to miss out on a possible good replacement.

I don't think Brown will be with Cleveland next season.

But you are wrong, Brown is already with Cleveland next year. He is their head coach. Wink

Ya got me. Larry Brown will not be employed by the Cavaliers for the 2005-06 season.
