Capacity at the Doyt this year - 23,500?

Is that the Sebo or maybe the Doyt is going to look out of place with our old 60's stadium meshed with this new achitechture style Sebo Center. I'm wondering that this might look really weird once its all done. Thats why I think we still have major things we could do the the Doyt itself to update bring the stadium into the 21st century. Right now I think this new futurist looking Sebo and our Doyt is going to look kinda bizzare. Just my take. :-\

Just put a nice fascade around the stadium and enclose it. Gimme real concessions and a few more 21st century toilets with radio in the restrooms, and we are all set.

Didn't we have over 31,000 at the NIU Gameday game? At the time, the listed capacity was 28,599, right? So, if this is correct, it seems we might be able to squeeze more than 23,500 into the Doyt this year with a listed capacity at 23,272.

We also had:

-- 33,000-plus at the 1983 Toledo game. Older timers swear it wasn't an exaggeration, either.
-- 26,860 at the 1971 Toledo game.
-- 24,194 at the 1975 Miami game.

For the latter to games, capacity was at 23,272.

I don't think we'll have much of a problem getting more than 23,272 in there for a big game this fall -- especially with the south end zone an open/pedestrian/beer drinkin' area.

Look at it this way: He said "older timers" as opposed to "old timers." You aren't OLD, just OLDER. Older than what is the important question.
