That had to be a scary moment for your wife, yourself, and your entire family! Glad to hear that she came out of it unharmed!

Freak, thanks for sharing. I'm glad Dana is alright. When I just got my license I had a similar accident. Stupidly swerved to miss a cat that ran out of the cornfield. I hit the berm (stones), and swerved into a fishtail and lost control. Dad's car (an '86 Toyota Celica) ended up leaning, upside down, against a telephone pole.

Once some people arrived to help me out of the car I was completely unscathed, and this in a car with no airbags or anything, just a seatbelt.

You'll get through this, but it can definitely be painful to think, "what if"

Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers.

Hammb,

I went thru something like that back in HS. I basically walked away from a totalled car. Next time, steamroll the cat.

I should be OK now....and I won't dwell on the what if's any longer.

But what if we go undefeated and beat UT in the MACC? Will we get a BCS bid? :o

Mike,
Your story reminded me of the time that my daughter totalled her Mustang on I-271 on way home from law school classes...hit slush in middle of road, lost control and bounced off guardrail..just missed getting hit by a semi...she had some minor cuts...and a LOT of broken glass in her hair.
33 said it best...cars can be replaced, people can't. Glad that Dana is OK and that you and the boys, along with Dana, will get through this OK also. Looking forward to seeing the whole clan at BG in only a couple of months.

Got a point there, WH! IF BG runs the table, no question in my mind they deserve a BCS bid.

Den,

Yep...Dana did have some pieces of glass in her hair too. Just a scary situation all around.

Looking forward to seeing you soon as well. We'll be heading to Muncie for the Ball State game and then waiting patiently for the first home game of the season.

'87,
Oh you know it! I am also looking at a Chrylser Pacifica cuz they are a lot like the Ford Freestyle. Dana is not to keen on another Escape or any kind of SUV at this time...totally understandable. If we have to drive the Honda Civic to the games, so be it. It sursprisingly has a lot of room in the trunk.

So glad to hear she is ok... You guys have my prayers.

I'm hoping to get an Escape before I die... Have to get the money first. My recommendation - price shop, because Ford announced yesterday it would be doing the "Employee Discount for Everyone" deal until August 5. Just so you know, there may be a better deal out there. ;)

And as for the "what ifs" - I guess its natural for people to wonder about stuff like that... (Now if I could just get this guy to realize he could actually find out "what if", I'd be off the dating market once again. Sheesh - you men. ;))

Seriously though - elated to hear everyone is safe and sound. Good luck in the car hunt.

Mike,

Sorry to hear about the trauma, but glad to hear about the end result! It was great meeting all of you and it was so nice of you to have us in your home earlier this summer. I always use these 'close to home' situations to take a moment and truly appreciate those around me. Our thoughts are with you guys!

Flashback for me!

Post by Falcon Fanatic »

WOW!! Thank God Dana is OK!! I have been through a similar incident and know what she must feel like!! I rolled my Yukon three years ago. It spun twice through the air and landed on the driver's side. Since that side was about the only thing damaged severely, they didn't total the car. That is why the Yukon is now ORANGE!!! Had to have it totally repainted anyways, so went with the obvious choice for a new color!!!!

I am sure Dana is a little sore (I could hardly move for two days!), but thankfully, that will be all she has to deal with, other than some scary memories!!! My thoughts and prayers are with you and Dana!!! Can't wait to see the whole Freak Family soon!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Orange VW Bus!
Does "VW" really count as one word? I mean it is not even a word, just two letters. If you said "Orange Volkswagon Bus", well that is three words. But I don't know how to count letters as words. :?
