No. In football, they just have to waive a student ID, and they are let in.

For basketball and hockey, they must appear at the ticket office before the game, waive an ID, and get the free tickets they need. They must then present those tickets at games.

Thanks, Shadenfreude...hey, haven't I seen you somewhere before, perhaps on a UM board or two?

Actually hockey and basketball are the same as football:

Normally you just flash the id and get in. But in some instances , big games such as Toledo basketball, MSU hockey, or NIU Gameday, you must pick up tickets earlier in the week.

Generally though just flash the id and you are good.

I'll be interested to see how no endzone bleachers will fill up the student section and the West side stands more so this season.

I think we have to buy our away tickets if I'm not mistaken for football games.

The word from the Athletic Offices about next year's Wisconsin game at Cleveland is this: Students will not get in free. Each student has the option of buying four tickets in the student section (from what I hear students will sit in the Dawg Pound). Each student ticket will cost $10 and can only be purchased on campus. With that ticket, a student does not have to be the one using it. So a student can buy four $10 tickets and give (or sell) them to whomever they would like.

Tickets are probably tickets regardless of student status for Wisky this year. The $10 deal will be for '06 at Cleveland Browns Stadium.
