Right now I own that one and it's probably my favorite hat I've ever owned, but those new ones are pretty sexy.
I hate to break it to you, but brown and orange together aren't marketable, so they put in a neutral color.
As far as the Z-Hat's, if you don't get the Z-Fit you don't know what you're missing, an amazing product in my opinion.

could not possibly agree with you more on all of those statements, Z-hats are so great, better than a warm blanket in an ice storm
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!
marketable, schmarketable... if that's what it takes to get a newly designed hat (and it doesn't, I've seen the same version of that hat in orange with a brown falcon head), then I'll stick with the tried and true.BGDrew wrote: I hate to break it to you, but brown and orange together aren't marketable, so they put in a neutral color.
The difference between using black and using pink or neon green is that black is getting lazy and saying "eh, close enough". the other colors are blatantly off enough to show that they're just giving options. Besides, shirts are one thing, something like a hat with a limited space to send the message, it should be orange and brown.
That's mostly the reason why I wear my orange "BGSU Alumni" hat more than the black "FALCONS" hat (though that gets some wear simply since it was a gift)

Yes, I know. And as others mentioned, the bookstores sell lime green, pink, purple, fuschia, etc t-shirts, shorts, sweats, whatever. And it is all done for marketing reasons. Girls prefer those pastely colors. They will buy BG logo stuff in those colors because it matches their purse or shoes.Falcon52 wrote:You guys are looking to much into the color. Lids also sells a green Yankees cap and a black Indians hat.
You can get Yankee hats in any color you want. But that is an urban-wear thing. Gotto show your colors if you know what I mean.
But the black for brown thing just doesn't fly with the hardcore fan. They will wear the team colors no matter how ugly they might be (Astros from the seventies or Padres brown and mustard) There is a fine line in switching from brown to black. The other color switches noted above are obvious and are for fashion-related reasons. Switching brown and black makes you think that is was a mistake, not intentional.
