Who is our third-string QB?
Who is our third-string QB?
I searched, because I know this has been discussed, but couldn't find the thread. Who is backing up Turner?

I am going to go out on a limb and say our "emergency" QB would be Van Johnson.
We all know his history and we know there are other QB recruits on the roster, but Van is the only one to have taken snaps, completed a pass in a game, and studied the play book.
Now as to who will move in to the back up roll when Omar departs, I am not sure, probably need to recruit for that spot.

It's funny that this topic has come up.
I was talking with Corey the other day and during their summer sessions when they are running. They do some passing and receiving drills. Well Corey has been throwing during these drills when Omar and Anthony need a break. This does not mean Corey is the 3rd QB, just a funny item I thought I would share since someone posted this.
Corey was a QB his senior year in HS, but that was due to the fact that the High School did not have any good athletes to play the position, so he would throw from the shot gun or run the ball. He had 1,000 yards rushing and 1,000 yards throwing that season. It was fun but he was a true WR/RB. He lead his HS team in rushing his Soph, Junior & Senior years. And in receiving his Junior year. I am hoping 4 more fun years of catching the football at BGSU.

He might have had one or two...I think he had a couple on the Harris runs against Mizzou and Toledo. I was referring the throws to downfield guys.Schadenfreude wrote:Magner had a few touchdown tosses, didn't he?Flipper wrote: Yeah...I think we're going to keep calling that play until it works...
They missed a TD to Gibby in 2001 against Miami, they missed a TD when the ball bounced of Baker's head against Kansas in 2002, we had the unfortunate Jarret play against OSU and the INT against Northwestern in the MCB.
Did we run that play at all last year?
Magner's final stats are actually pretty decent (I believe he was 1 for 4 in 2003 with a TD & and INT and 3 of 5 with 3 TDs in 2002, but don't trust the memory of an "older timer"Schadenfreude wrote:Magner had a few touchdown tosses, didn't he?Flipper wrote: Yeah...I think we're going to keep calling that play until it works...
But the Magner throwback to Harris against that team up the road in 2003 almost makes me cry in happiness everytime.
