Delmarva Shorebirds is the next stop. Low-A ball. Located in Delmar, MD. Just north of Salisbury, MD. The current player playing RF is batting .250 with 0 HRs in 250 ABs.

0 Hr's are not that bad as long as you have a high OB % and 50-60 steals, but I am assuming since you did not mention that, that this guy in RF is not having that good of a year. Would love to see Nolan in AAA within the next 2 years, and in the bigs within 3 years. I think that is a pretty decent time schedule

yeah, the guy ahead of him in low-A is not a prospect, at least to the level Reimold is.

.322 OB %
.322 SLG %

only 8 steals in 14 attempts.

Baltimore Sun

By Pat O'Malley
Sun Staff

It's early, but the Orioles' June draft appears to have been a good one.

Joe Jordan, the Orioles' first-year scouting director, is pleased with the players the club was able to draft, sign and use to stock its minor league teams.

"I thought the draft went well for us," said the 43-year old Jordan, who spent eight years with Montreal and Florida before coming to Baltimore.

"Every draft room I've been in, you feel good when you get guys you really want. When the first day was over with the 18 picks that we took, we had a lot of conviction on almost all of them to some degree."

Brandon Snyder, a catcher from Westfield High in Centreville, Va., was the Orioles' top pick, followed by first-round sandwich pick, pitcher Garrett Olson, and outfielder Nolan Reimold and pitcher Brandon Erbe in the second and third rounds, respectively.

Snyder and Erbe, a McDonogh graduate, are playing at Bluefield while 21-year-olds Olson and Reimold are at Aberdeen. Snyder is off to a .385 (5-for-13) start at the plate with two doubles, a homer and four RBIs, while Erbe has yet to pitch.

Reimold, who played at Bowling Green, could turn out to be a steal and a symbol of good scouting.

According to Jordan, Reimold, who is batting .344 (21-for-61), tied for seventh-best in the New York-Penn League, with four homers and 11 RBIs for the Single-A IronBirds, had first-round potential. The Orioles were fortunate he was available in the second round.

"We got a big kid [6 feet 4, 207 pounds] in Reimold, who is strong, fast, can throw and has got the 'five tools' [run, throw, hit, hit with power and field]," said Jordan.

"We were fortunate to get that package in the second round. He's an exciting player. Anytime you get size and speed and power, in any player, you feel very good about it."

From Jim Callis' chat at ESPN.com, today:
Jake (Baltimore): What do you think about the O's 2nd round pick Nolan Reimold? Could he be one of the steals from the June draft?

SportsNation Jim Callis: (3:15 PM ET ) Too early to call anyone a steal, but Reimold has that potential. He was up and down during the spring, which is why there was little consensus on where he should go, but he'll show all five tools and has a lot of power.

Nolan hit his 5th HR tonight, along with having 3 RBI. He's now 1 short of the league league(tie) in HRs.
