An idea brewing for the Kent game on 11/5...

Post by Falconfreak90 »

At present time, the Kent road game is scheduled for a 1pm kickoff. As many of you know, the Freaks live about 15-20 minutes from Kent.

I would like to extend an invitation to anyone that would like to stop by the Freak's dwelling for a post game party. I figure most of us will show up at Kent between 10-11 that day and if anyone wants to drive over with us, by all means. It isn't the best tailgate scene at Dix Stadium and the cops are pretty lame. Kent "Sells" keg beer and the cops tell anyone drinking anything else to pour it out. I'm sure some of you know what I mean. Hopefully that has changed but I wouldn't bet on it. So, we'll do the best we can tailgating at the game and take over the stadium like 2002.

We'll have dogs, burgers, brats, beer, chips and pop at the house and you all are welcome.
Plus, we'll have 2 TV's with college football on until there is no football left to be played that day.

I know it's a long time off but I thought I would throw this out.

47 days....feel the TALONS!

Oooooooh, sounds tempting.

I'm in, but I'm helping. How 'bout if I supply the desserts for your soiree?

That is definitely a possibility, thanks for the invite, Freak!

My girlfriend's family lives nearby so we were planning on a big crew, plus my pops and sister from B-W will be coming down. I am sorry to hear that the cops are lame there as I was looking forward to tailgating at Dix. I might look into the keg thing though, if I could get some help finishing it???

One thing I was thinking about with this game, as I can't stop thinking about all the road trips I'll be making this year, is what about an alumni band???

THere are a lot of alums in NE Ohio and I hope a lot come out to the game. I remember last time we played at Kent it was mostly BG fans, so I would love if even just a handful of band peopel could come out and play Forward Falcons and Ay Ziggy Zoomba??? Maybe I"ll post this on the band forum .. .

Sounds like a good time. I also propose this.....let's see if we can get more BG people at Kent than they do. I'll be bringing a flock of family members to the game.

Sounds excellent!

DD,
Great idea....even a handful of the FMB can rip and rock! Like I said, I hope the whole deal at Dix Stadium is different this time. Or maybe it is just the lot over by their fieldhouse that blows.

33,
In 2002, there were more BG fans there. At least 2-3,000. It would be great to get over 5k BG fans for this one.

Count me in.....but you better put a couple of extra dogs for Big Jon

P.S. I froze my AZZ off at that last Kent game. I think they had as many BG fans there as Kent fans!!

Sounds like a great idea Freak. I am really hoping to go to this game, and if I can count me in on the pre-game festivities. My wife's family lives in Jackson Township, so I am trying to convince her that the trip is worth it, b/c she can see her family while I go to the game. Still its about 6hrs with the kids and we have to drive back up for thanksgiving, she might not be so keen.

This sounds great Freak! I actually went to Kent State, ran on their track and cross country teams. As for Big Jon, Him and I were close, due to the fact that I was living in the Delt house during my KSU years.

My brother and his family will be attending the game, so that makes about 6 of us that will be there. By the way this thread is going we will easily out number the flasher fans.

Go Falcons, Let's kick the Golden out of their Flashes!

Hmm... Warren's like 45-minutes away from Kent. Yeah, I think I'll be there 8)

Since its a post-game party, you go to the game, bum around the lots or the stands, find the guy with the BG jersey that says "Falconfreak" on it (He's #90, a little smallish for defensive line, maybe a bit slow in the step for linebacker, but from what I hear, he's the master of the hibachi!), yell "FREAK!", introduce yourself, and you're in.

It's just that easy!

I shook hands with a few folks before the 2003 MCB, but didn't really have a chance to hang out with a lot of folks before Noah & I went to last year's WMU game. TG1996 is right. Find the AZZ crew, say hello and you'll immediately have found a dozen or more long-lost friends!
