Big 12 scheduling
The Big XII is vastly overrated. They get great SoS numbers in the BCS because they all play patsies for non conference games. They build up those records so that they're all winning teams when they go into non-conference play.
The Big XII is no better than the Big 10 or the Pac 10, IMO. Other than Texas & OU I think BG is a 2 TD favorite over every other team in that conference.

I've had a bad week Transfer. Don't mess with me. (see blog) Dinner is already taken care of. It's leftovers from Mike Modano's favorite restaurant where we ate last night (again see blog).
Whatever. Big 12 rocks. Not sure this will work, but it has a link to bowl standings. Look at the bowl bids & wins (although in that regard, Mt. West & Conf USA suck). But again, whatever. I said it was just my opinion, which despite your opinion I am stupid & don't know anything about football, I watch at least 10 games per week during football season, I am my H's secret weapon in fantasy football, & I won my firm's College Pick em last year.

Is that really what we print in our wild ass party school out in the middle of the corn fields of Ohio alumni magazine?Botox Diaries wrote:My undergrad magazine is pretty uninspiring, but that's what you expect when you go to a wild ass party school out in the corn fields of Ohio. There's not a lot to report in print. If there were, it would be stuff like "J.D. is doing well after a 3 week stint in rehab. Shout out to all the brothers at the Phi Delt House. Good times" or "Tara (fka 'SuperSkank') is currently working at Baby Dolls. She is back from maternity leave (her 4th) & is thankful that she has been moved off the night shift, and can be currently located there from 3-7pm."

Yeah, transfer don't be tough on her. Its hard when the upper class lawyers must deal with common folk. Hell she even has to deal with D.A.s. How dare they be upset that while they prosecute criminals and make only 38K a yr trying to make society a better place, defense/trial lawyers go and make millions trying to prove the innocence of rapist and murderers.

Ohhhhhh...I think Botox and Transfer are heading for a WWF styled cage match.....
The Big 12 is like any other conference, it has some really good teams and some really bad ones. I don't think merely being associated with the likes of an Oklahoma or Texas should elevate middling schools like Texas Tech any more than a middling Big 10 like Whisky should be elevated by its association to Ohio State or Meeechigan.
In other words, a sh*t sammich is still a sh*t sammich no matter how tasty the bread is...

Listen, Flip, I can take you insulting Texas Tech and Wisconsin, but when you start insulting bread ... well, you've just gone too far.Flipper wrote:Ohhhhhh...I think Botox and Transfer are heading for a WWF styled cage match.....

So now we can make arguments based on taking out facts that disprove what we're trying to say? (i.e., "the fact that CUSA and MWC had better bowl records than the Big 12 doesn't matter because I think CUSA and MWC suck")
If I'm ever in a courtroom in Texas, I think I know who I *don't* want defending me.
"Your honor, my client has never been in trouble, and has a perfect record in society. Except for the time he killed those few people, or the time he set fire to a grade school. But those don't count, because I thought they sucked."
Good thing they don't like to fry people in Texas....

Hell In A Cell. I can take her. I know a ton of lawyer jokesFlipper wrote:Ohhhhhh...I think Botox and Transfer are heading for a WWF styled cage match.....
Q. How can you tell when a lawyer is lying?
A. His lips move
=======
A man went to a brain store to get some brain to complete a study. He sees a sign remarking on the quality of professional brain offerred at this particular brain store. He begins to question the butcher about the cost of these brains.
"How much does it cost for engineer brain?"
"Three dollars an ounce."
"How much does it cost for programmer brain?"
"Four dollars an ounce."
"How much for lawyer brain?"
"$1,000 an ounce."
"Why is lawyer brain so much more?"
"Do you know how many lawyers we had to kill to get one ounce of brain?"
=======
The devil visited a lawyer's office and made him an offer. "I can arrange some things for you, " the devil said. "I'll increase your income five-fold. Your partners will love you; your clients will respect you; you'll have four months of vacation each year and live to be a hundred. All I require in return is that your wife's soul, your children's souls, and their children's souls rot in hell for eternity."
The lawyer thought for a moment. "What's the catch?" he asked.
=======
Q. What is a criminal lawyer?
A. Redundant.
=======
Q. What do you call 5000 dead lawyers at the bottom of the ocean?
A. A good start!
=======
Q. What's the difference between God and an attorney?
A. God doesn't think he's an attorney.
=======
Q. What's the difference between an attorney and a pit bull?
A. Jewelry.

what other conferences had 7 bowl berths? Hmmmm, anyone?
And who is still on my list of people I wouldn't defend anyhow, even if I was forced to do it for $80/ hr? You & Heinrich need to have a few more drinks.
And I know Transfer is only kidding, so he's still on my good list. You 2 however are not going to be getting a visit from Santa this year.

<<<< gets popcorn ready to watch the show.
The big 12 is just barely above the Pac-10 in my opinion. BCS Conference strength in general should be SEC, Big 11, ACC, Big 12, Pac-10, Big Least. That list is off the top of my head and isn't very solid, just an off the cuff opinion.
The big 12 north last year was pretty horrible. I also have to agree with whoever said we should be favored against every big 12 team this year outside of OK and tejjjhhas. Ever since nebraska's swoon, the big 12 just hasn't been a powerful conference.

I did e-mail the Texas A&M AD and told him what I thought of Franchiones comments. I also provided him with Paul Krebs e-mail and told him I would like for him and Krebs to schedule a home-and-home series.

yeaah...I don't think I'd be proud of having the most mediocre .500 teams of any conference in the country. Last year was the fluke of the millenium. I'm not too proud of the MAC's 5 bowl games last year. Every team except Akron with a winning record in the country got to a bowl game (excluding the brawlers). Having that many bowl teams last year just adds to the argument of playing too many patsies just to get to a winning record. The whole conference could go 3-5, 4-4, or 5-3 in conference, win 3 games against sam houston state, binghamton junior college, and Alaska A&M and still havea winning record. Nothing to boast about IMO.
