Well, I think Krebs has said something along those lines, but I think being really brazen about it probably isn't the wisest thing in the world.

Yeah that would be great if we were trying to get Hulk Hogan or Andre the Giant to come play against us. =). If it's going to get done, I'd like it to get done with class. If the "big boys" all continue to dodge us, we'll just keep beating on whoever gets put in our way.

Like I have said before, Miami is already negotiating with the Big XII for some games. BG should join in the negotiations, I don't see why they couldn't, it would make both Miami and BG look better if they came to the table together, and the Big XII said, here are the teams, we'd like you to play Iowa State and Mizzou. Miami and BG would prolly say yes very quickly to a home and home with them, and then you would have the incentive for Toledo, and NIU, and other MAC schools to come and present a united front to the Big XII.

Living here in Big 12 country, I have always said that most of the schools schedule a big portion of their OOC games against teams that they are supposed to beat up on. I can understand when the Texas based schools want to schedule Rice, UH, UTEP, and SMU to keep the ties with the other Texas schools, but they are all at least 1A. But when you have UT and A&M loading up on UL Lafayette, North Texas, UL Monroe, and a lot of other Sun Belt teams, I think you are definitaly loading up on "cupcakes". And let's not kid ourselves, if our bottom tier MAC schools started to schedule games with the Big 12, they would still be getting the same criticisms. Only Miami, BG, UT, and NIU would make them decent to good matchups. But out of all the good teams in the country, there really is a dicrepency of lower tier teams that are playing most of these Big 12 schools. I personally would have to add A&M as one of those teams that would scare me to play. They are on the upswing, and will be good this year. I can understand someone that likes the Big 12 taking up for them, but I can't say that they are one of the top conferences in the country this year.

I hate when I have crap to do & y'all are making me have to look for things to back myself up. Ugggh. Don't have much time, but take OSU v. San Diego State, Fla State v. The Citadel, VaTech v. Ohio U. I am sure there are other beauties out there.

I never said Big 12 was the best, but when faced with the ? of whether it was okay to schedule crappy teams, my answer: yes

when faced with the ? of whether ACC & Big 10 are "as good" as Big 12, not so sure.

Now go make yourselves a dang quesadilla.

Why don't you bring up how your husband played football for Baylor 8 or 9 more times?

The Big Twelve has 9 games scheduled this year against 1-AA opponents, including four games scheduled with new 1-A members Fla Atlantic and FIU.

The Big Ten has one game scheduled against 1-AA opponents and one game with Fla At.

The MAC has four games scheduled against 1-AA opponents.

It is not hard to figure out why the Big Twelve Conference has an inflated SOS of every season.

Shouldn't playing I-AA teams bring your SOS down?

Not if the entire league is 4-0 entering conference play

I would have to say that the question of whether the Big 12 is as good as the Big 10 will be answered very early in the season. The OSU/UT game will answer the question. Nobody is going to care how the bottom tier teams do all season, but whoever wins that game will get the bragging rights for the whole conference. Michigan, OSU, and Iowa are the class of the Big 10 this year, and UT, OU, and A&M are the class of the Big 12 this year. The problem with trying to compare these two conferences is the fact that both of them only go on the road a total of 9 times in each conference. Out of the 23 schools, there are only 18 road games OOC. That is pretty pathetic on both conferences part. Both of these conferences play pretty easy OOC schedules. So let's just see how things pan out throughout the season, and see who get's upset the most. Let's just hope for the people on this board, that the MAC get's a few upsets, and not really worry about the "other" conferences.
