Open with Omar on the beach in Florida.

Cut to Omar walking accross a snowy, windy, BG campus and have him bundled up and say "I left florida, for this??!!!"

Then show highlights and cut to omar sayin, "Naw, I left Florida for THIS!" cut to more highlights, td passes etc.
Ooh, me like!! :ZZZZing:
Nah...we are not allowed to do any commercials at all. Doing so just shows how envious we are of the mighty, mighty, above all rockettes.

Eh, I don't care if the Rockettes are running spots...good for them. Now is one time I'm glad we live too far away to see those spots on the tube.

DD came up with a nifty idea for a commercial.

BTW, what about the spots they run during the Gregg Brandon show? Those always look great but they only run them during the coach's show.

GO FALCONS!!!

No matter how ridiculous and stupid you may think the TU Rockette commercials are - they've got you talking about them (and the boys at the MACBBS board laughing at you).

Yep they are effective and I wish we would do something. Not necessarily something like them but something.

Oh no! Toledo is laughing at us? Boo-freaking-hoo!

This isn't a matter of "doing what Toledo's done", its a matter of simple marketing. Nothing reaches people more than television, they just happened to get there first.

Now, if they were to put a dome on their stadium and we rushed right out to put a dome on ours, I might see a point. But not here.

We have one of the best or even the best players in all of college football playing for us. That is something that may never happen again. There is no excuse, we should have commercials promoting him/the team.

Rocket football...It's Faaaaaaanstatic.

Pick out the players recently suspended (remember, check the sidelines first as they're not likely to be starters)!

Count the number of passes caught 5 yards beyond the line of scrimmage (use your right or left hand as a counting device)!

Barely. And we used more than QB throwbacks to beat them the year before.

We're not going to talk about that anymore.

... at least not until the week before the UT game to get us all revved and angry and bloodthirsty and ready to bury them all in our muddy football field!!

Whether the commercials are cheesy or not, they are doing what they are designed to do. 1. Generate exposure. 2. Get people to recognize and talk about the product. I'm not saying they are the most professional quality, but they have more substance than BG's football commercials (which do not exist). These UT commercials have even produce multiple threads on this BG website......so I'd have to say they're at least working.

Think about the casual fan in the Northwest Ohio market. Most of them couldn't pick Coach Brandon or Omar Jacobs out of a lineup. On the other hand if you live in NW Ohio and you don't recognize Coach Amstutz then you live under a rock. The guy is everywhere. Now that Brucie-G is getting some exposure from those cheesy commercials, most people in this market with a television know him too.

My wife (a casual fan) saw a picture of Omar and Gradkowski on the front page of the Toledo Blade sports section a few Sunday's ago and she said, "There is Gradkowski and that BG quarterback." If it weren't for those commercials she would have never recognized Toledo's QB, let alone knew his name. Like it or not, the Rockets marketing campaign is doing what they set out to accomplish.

You got that right, Amstutz is everywhere. I went to Krispy Kreme yesterday morning at 6:30 on my way up to Monroe Michigan and I saw Amstutz in their picking up at least 4 dozen donuts. Hopefully not for him but I would not put it past him. Then my friend called me last night and said he saw Amstutz and some other guy Sunday at Arby's on Secor downing 4 Roast Beef Sandwiches. So going back to your statement: Its easy to recognize Amstutz, just wait around at some restaraunt long enough he will be sure to show up. :)

HA HA HA......that's some funny stuff. I do like his striking the Heisman pose in that one commercial though. I do have to admit, some of those commercials are pretty funny.
