The Browns originally had training camp in BG.
The players lived in the houses in what we now call Sorority Row. They had practice on the old intramural fields which is the field behind Memorial Hall and where Olscamp Hall now stands.
Paul Brown liked our colors so he took them for the Clowns as well.

Yup they started trainning camp here at Bowling Green. In fact my dad has some VHS tapes of Browns highlights that "introduce" the team and you can clearly pick out campus buildings in the background.
Also, if you have any Browns history type books many of hte early headshots, coaches pictures are taken on campus.
In fact, the Browns first ever game as the Browns was at Bowling Green City Park vs. the New York Giants.
I bet it was a lot different atmosphere than the preseason games currently being played that charge the same price as regular season tickets. . .
A few years back I was lucky enough to have media credentials for the 1999 Browns expansion draft and I was back stage talking to former Browns greats. Dante Lavelli clearly rememberd Bowling Green and specifically swimming in the quarry next to the windmill on Clough street for fun.
