Concrete In Front of Stands @ Perry Stadium

Post by Dayons_Den »

Forgot to bring this up earlier, but did anyone else notice the front facade (SP?) of the stands seemed to be blasted and maybe covered with fresh concrete? I sat on the West side neaer the top and could defintely tell the East side was freshly done. Very nice looking.

It also got me thinking about putting the banner/tarp type covering all around the Doyt like they do at most NFL stadiums and now some college stadiums. Perhaps a good way to get the new logos and identities out there.

I don't want to be the one to ruin your fresh concrete idea, but last Thursday before the game when I was out at the stadium, they were painting the concrete with a brighter gray that almost looks white. It still looks really good though so I have no complaints.

They were doing a lot of painting. The day before the game a few people were painting the railings.

I hope the go over those again sometime. I could see the pink all over them at the last game.

From what I saw they were only doing the front railings...It wasn't a real professional job.

Good point DD about the banner. That would be cool. I noticed the front sections of the stands and thought it looked MUCH better! I noticed last yr that the concrete was crumbling on some of those sections. The railings could have been painted better. They really need to just replace them with new ones. But the Doyt looks better already and will continue to get work.

yeah, in front of the student section, parts of the railing are missing now, like the chain link part of it, totally gone, looks kinda bad for a 1-A big time program
