It looks like a weblog...aka boring. How about a site that says this man deserves the Heisman?
No offense because you are the only one putting in effort, but because not too many people know about Omar, they are going to need something extremely visually appealing to keep them at the site before they start reading information on him.
Also, how many domain names relating to Omar and the Heisman do you own?

Perhaps something along the lines of what Dayons Den created for a avatar.Germainfitch1 wrote:You know what would be interesting to highlight. The one thing that Omar has that no other candidate has....The hair. We need to differentiate this man and make him known, although humurous the hair is something that makes him unique and likeable.
How is this for school spirit, brown suit and vest with orange shirt and tie.

You might want to take a second look at the link, Godaddy didn’t update the forwarding as quickly as normal, however it is not pointing at the Blog as far as I can tell. Most of the hits are starting at the main site and moving too the blog.
The blog is a component of the site, one which is doing a fair amount to bounce traffic to the main site.
I don’t intend for the site to be a finished work, but aside from three of our own here on AZZ, there weren’t any other responders to my open call for assistance in doing the site. So what I have posted is what I can do, which is more than would otherwise be out there. Rather than waiting for the season to hit the half-way mark, I wanted a foothold to build from.
When or if the University officially starts something, our site will shift gears to compliment it and drive traffic to it.
DayonsDen is letting his mind roam as to graphical elements. Jacobs4Heisman and Germainfitch1 are working on stat and color articles. More is better however. I’m talking with eFax.com about starting a broadcast fax service to blast notes and stats to whomever we can get a fax number for. If we have some hard-core journalism/English majors that can sign onto the blog and help with editing/proofreading work, that would help.
IF we have a few people that don't sound like they are in their late teens on the phone, I want to have a pool of names in case regional radio types call to make the obligatory "why Omar" calls to the obligatory "Blank for Heisman" fan site.
Things that people in general can do is PM or email me email and fax numbers of regional and national papers which the fax service could be used on. People with original (IE royalty free) pictures, or graphics are needed. If people can come up with entire pages that build of the basic idea I'm suggesting with the current production version, so much the better.
My job is basically to prod this thing into gear and deal with the hosting.

Ah, to answer Metz's question, I own two domains at the moment, one of which Godaddy hasn't unstuck yet, the other I'm taking a liking too, which is jacobs4heisman.com. I also have FalconHeismans.com which I intend to be archive of whatever we do with this project. Plus I'd like to think there will be others from BG in the future to add to the site.
Also, time just doesn't allow me to do some of the research I'd like too. I've contacted the Heisman site asking if they had vote tallies which might note either past BGSU or MAC players getting votes. But somebody mentioned it before, that we had somebody, if not two people, who were "finalists" as we currently define the term.
Who were they?

I see an omarjacobsforheisman.com and a jacobs4heisman.com. Both look blog style to me. Once again, no offense, you are doing what you can. Just stating my opinion of the sites as constructive criticism from someone who knows web design.NWLB wrote:You might want to take a second look at the link, Godaddy didn’t update the forwarding as quickly as normal, however it is not pointing at the Blog as far as I can tell. Rest assured I’m not taking it personally, I’m not advertising it as a state of the art website, simply one that gets the job done. If the lack of wall-to-wall graphics, hot-spot links, and CSS now means such a website is a blog, it is. I'm not sure where the line between one and the other ends anymore or if there is a point to drawing one.
Also, the long domain name isn't operational, it isn't pointing at anything, so I'm not sure what you mean by "both."
In any case, as I said before, there was lots of talk, not much volunteering until something got posted. Somebody and something had to get things rolling which was my point. A clean cut site provides us with a foundation. We have a presence on the web, it will develop as those with the time and interest contribute. I’m sure what gets archived in January will bear little resemblance to what is there now.
