Harris to Moore, touchdown...?
From today's PD camp log:
Play of the day: Josh Harris throws on the run better than the other quarterbacks. In a team drill, he skittered away from pressure and darted a quick pass in full stride to Lance Moore, beating Gary Baxter. Moore split the secondary and ran it home.
A conundrum for a BG and Browns fan- Browns TD, but a Rocket on the receiving end...

I copied pretty much all of it from posts on berniesinsiders.com, so I don't really care.mk455 wrote:Hammb: I used your post on a browns forum topic... I hope you dont mind. If u do, let me know and ill take it off.
What Browns forum are you visiting? Berniesinsiders seems to be about the best I can find, but perhaps there's something better out there?

Honestly, I hope Moore sticks with the Browns. The more MAC players in the NFL, the better ... even if they are Rockets.rollalong94 wrote:From today's PD camp log:

True- it's great for the conference. But I think he is more of a long shot than Magner in ATL.1987alum wrote: Honestly, I hope Moore sticks with the Browns. The more MAC players in the NFL, the better ... even if they are Rockets.
Moore is what, 5'9"? It'll make it an uphill battle for him.
Re: Harris to Moore, touchdown...?
Magner is in the perfect situation, IMO. Atlanta has a more free-wheeling approach than most NFL teams, thanks largely to Mr. Vick. That plays to Cole's strengths - he's quick and versatile.rollalong94 wrote:True- it's great for the conference. Moore's size may be an issue, but the Browns aren't exactly in a position to turn away a guy who can make plays. They have a number of the big targets the NFL seems to be favoring (Edwards, Bryant, Frisman Jackson), so that may help Moore.
hammb has better insight than I, but here's a quick glance at the roster...
I'd have to assume that Edwards, Bryant, Northcutt and Andre Davis are pretty much locks. That's four receivers. How many more will they carry? Jackson has some experience, as to Alston and C.J. Jones. If the Browns decide to keep one "developmental" receiver, will Jackson continue to fall into that category? If not, it may come down to Cribbs and Moore.
Re: Harris to Moore, touchdown...?
Right now the Browns have a player that is dedicated solely to Long Snapping duties. They have also gone out and signed a kicker to a 3 year deal for kicking off. If we work under the assumption that the LS makes the roster that leaves you with 4 roster spots that are special teamers only. That is certainly doable, but you must make concessions elsewhere. One place where I expect them to make those concessions is at the WR spot. I would be SHOCKED if they carried more than 5 WR on the active roster.1987alum wrote: Moore's size may be an issue, but the Browns aren't exactly in a position to turn away a guy who can make plays. Right now it looks as though Northcutt, Bryant, Edwards, and Davis are the locks. There were trade rumors floating around about sending Davis somewhere, but nothing came about from that and I have to believe that at this point it's unlikely. That leaves the rest of the roster fighting for the 5th spot. I have to believe that the leg up for that spot is probably Richard Alston. He had some good success as a KR last year, and that is probably the best thing that a 5th WR can contribute. Frisman Jackson has been around for a few years now, and has never really impressed me. He's okay, but not going to make many plays. He does have the added bonus of having the strongest arm on the team...that could be valuable for a trick play or two. The guy can chuck it about 80 yards in the air.
I think Cribbs & Moore will definitely be given every opportunity to win that #5 spot, but I think that Alston has the likely edge right now. In order to unseat him they would have to show some versatility beyond being a 5th WR. The word is that they're trying Cribbs at 3rd down back. If he could excel in that role the safe money is on him making the team, but its a crap shoot at best to expect him to do anything there. Right now if I had to rank the battle for the 5th WR (having not seen any of camp) I'd rank them:
1. Alston
2. Cribbs
3. Jackson
4. Moore
I really think that Cribbs has the largest potential of the group and wouldn't be shocked if they find a way to keep him on the roster. Lance is a good player, just not sure if he's an NFL WR. His lack of blazing speed or superior quickness will probably limit his versatility as well. Combine that with the fact that he's very short by NFL WR standards, I just think he's a longshot. I could very easily see Cribbs making the Browns, however.

Hopefully it was a completion on the other end. It looks like he just stepped up in there and tossed the ball with quite a rush coming at him.

Honostly I thought Josh was all but gone in Cleveland but I guess not so fast eh? Good to hear Josh is still plugging away and working his butt off to get a roster spot.
