You wouldn't happen to be hiring would you?

I hate my job. It's about 80% prepress and 20% design, and the atmosphere at the place is very hostile.

My situation is so desperate, I've been preparing to start carpet bombing the market with resumes.

I've been a graphic designer for about 8 years. Unlike most designers, I have a well-rounded education in taking a project from concept to output (unlike most designers who have no idea what has to happen to a printed piece when it leaves their desk).

I've had my hand in just about every type of media, including print (my specialty), web, multimedia, computer animation, video production, audio production, and freelance photography.

This site and joshharrisqb.com are just two of my web design brain childs.

Give me a PM if you're interested.

I would take your Copyright off of there unless you have consent from the Athletic Departments to use all those logos. I am going to go out on a limb and say you probably don't since you are using the "retail" logo instead of the athletic logo for your design.
Yeah, I put it on there for the heck of it back when i made it......completely forgot to take it off.....will do that when i get into work tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up.

If I wanted to blow the schedule up onto a big poster board or something to hang on the wall next to the beer pong table would Kinko's be the best place to take it? Also, speaking of copyrighting. Is it cool to make up some posters and sell them to friends at cost? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Keep up the good work! :D
I see your Swartz is as big as mine!

kinkos is expensive as s**t, but yeah they would get the job done. the only thing that sucks with them though, is they print it out, scan it, and then print it again..... i have NOOO idea why. for some reason they wont just print from the original file. you could also probably take it to saddlemire or something once school starts, unless its open right now, i dunno, and do it yourself. the tech building also has a pretty good inkjet printer that would get the job done, but i duno if they'd let you use it or not.

Most of the time they do that is because of the VDF (viewing distance factor). It all comes down to the resolution of the original image and the resolution it needs to be when printed on a poster. The whole dots per inch thing changes when viewing 8.5x11 pieces of paper to a huge poster. That's about as simple as I can explain it.

"To the optimist, the glass is half full. To the pessimist, the glass is half empty. To the project manager, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be."

makes sense. i remember learning about that in vct 308 or whatever it was. but even when kinkos does like a small copy, 8.5x11, they still print, scan, and reprint. they're dumb.

the whole thing is vector, so you can make it as large as you want without losing quality.

But it's stupid when, at least in this case, the entire thing is vector artwork, which is not resolution dependent. If they used the original file, they could make it 200 feet long and it would retain its crispness.

Kinkos is just dumb. Seriously. I don't think I've ever stepped foot in there where they haven't screwed a project of mine up at least once.

I've never seen them do that with Vector images...a lot of raster ones though. But I will agree, they are dumb and half their machines never work.

It's not the machines that are the problem, it's the fact that 98.995% of their workforce don't know how to use them properly.
