Who cares how we are ranked in regard to Toledo? The Continental wrote:At least BG is above Toledo.
More importantly, look where Wisconsin (30) and Boise State (19) are ranked. If we start the season 3-0, we will be in the national spotlight.
Honestly, I like the idea of lurking just outside the top 25 to start the season. We're in a great position to make a lot of noise!

I agree also. I think it takes a little of the pressure off the players. It is practically unprecedented for us to even be getting votes in a pre-season poll. So sitting just outside the top 25 takes off some pressure to meet the expectations of a ranked team, but also gives the players some incentive by being overlooked. This ranking is fine with me.Schadenfreude wrote:What he said.1987alum wrote:...look where Wisconsin (30) and Boise State (19) are ranked. I like this ranking as far as team mindset goes. I like the underdog role for our guys as it seems like every time we get serious national recognition, we fall on our face.
The thing that bothers me is a BCS bowl is now pretty much out of the question even if we run the table. Utah started the year 18th last year and barely made it in. I don't think it's possible for a "mid-major" (gag) school to make it into the BCS from 32nd. Oh well, we can still run the table and give all the BCS schools ulcers in the process.

Oh heck no. I think we'd have a shot.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:The thing that bothers me is a BCS bowl is now pretty much out of the question even if we run the table.
It seems pretty clear to me that a win over Wisconsin puts Bowling Green in the Top 25.
Boise State is already ranked; a 3-0 start for us could put us in the Top 15.
Then we'd have the rest of the season to try to keep moving up.
