BGSU FIGHT SONG ON WLW 700

Post by H2Ofalcon77 »

Don't know if anyone else heard it.......played about 4:35 just after coming back from the 4:30 news. It was the lead-in music for the 2nd half of "sports or consequences"

I'm told the producer of the Burbank show is Rob Ervin, BG class of '89.

That makes two BGSU grads on WLW. Rob fills in for Gary Burbank a lot when he's out.

Scott Sloan does the 9-Midnight shift when there isn't any Reds baseball (and I don't think there has been any Reds baseball for a month or so)

you've gotta be right, H2O... and that means I'm not crazy!!!! *laugh*

I thought I had heard it once driving listening to Sports or Consequences, but by the time I realized it, they were in a commercial. They didn't reply to my email when I asked about it, but if two of us have heard it, it must be true! *laugh*

LW has used that lead in for s/c for quite some time. if you are not paying close attention to it you miss it.

Hello,

Rob Ervin class of '89 here. I am the board op for the Gary Burbank Show on WLW and I do try to play stuff off the BG marching band CD as bumper music going in and out of the breaks.

Go Falcons,

Rob Ervin

What is Sloan up to these days? I'd like to say I've tuned in, but I haven't. I'm curious if he has been able to get all of that impure UT/Toledo crude out of his system since freeing himself of 1370 and to a lesser extent, the Spartan wannabe fan from Michigan-whom I could deal with were it not for the fact he actually bought into being a UT wannabe.

As a BGSU football AND hockey fan, a UT AND MSU poser is....just wrong.

Welcome aboard Rob! I always enjoy listening to you, Duke, Seg, and RRRRROCKO (I know - Burbank is the STAR of the show).

Nathan - Sloan is the 9 PM - Midnight guy down there when they don't have the Reds on air. You can also listen to him when Billy "I love John Kerry" Cunningham is on vacation.

Transfer: I think I should start putting together "Kerry/Edwards '04" bumpersticker removal kits to sell in a few weeks. Small box, a razor blade, some "Goop off." I'd do it, but the way things are looking, they might misunderstand what the blade is for.

I just want to see the electoral college map again.

The last one I saw (BEFORE the Republican Convention) showed Kerry up. I've got a feeling that a new one will show Lt. No-shoW up. I wonder if Tim Russert is getting his dry-erase board ready or if he is ready to call the election now.

The last map I saw was Newsweeks. Hence I didn't worry much about Kerry being up. I stick with Gallop at all times. They are the gold standard, always have been.

Even based on Newsweeks map, based on how polls have shifted, Bush should be well in front, if not actually having enough votes to take the election. The most impressive thing is his picking up steam in New York of all states. I still don't expect him to win it, nor spend much in trying. However another five points and Kerry/the DNC/527s will have to shift money to stem the bleeding, which they can not afford right now. The polls shifting will start to feed on itself in the near-term. As states get closer, Kerry will have less and less money to counter with, an effort that is always much more expensive than defending from on top. He has one chance to possibly reverse things, that is to do very well in the first debate. But he also has to do as well in the second debate or lose all he gains from the first.

The odds of that are very slim.

Plus a certain former NYC mayor is already a wide front-runner of a former president's wife.

I'm wondering what is going to congeal into the Democratic party after November, working on the 13 point assumption Bush wins.

www.electoral-vote.com

This site is updated daily by ~7AM. Great info and commentary on polling trends. As of today, Bush leads 307 to 211 in electoral votes.

It blows my mind Kerry is starting to lose ground in New York. Even if Kerry wins it, the implications for 2008 are huge.
