Omar is the most accurate passer the MAC has seen at least since Pennington, and he may be better than him. It's not just completion %, but that is a good place to start. He puts the ball on the money, and he throws a VERY catchable ball. It's got zip on it, but seems to be soft into the hands of the WRs as well. It doesn't hurt that he's had a great WR corps; the credit should be spread around.pardonfan wrote:The one thing I noticed from the article that sticks out at me as how Omar says he just throws the ball away out of bounds if no one is open in order to keep the INT's down.
Well, that is amazing that he completed something like 68% of his passes by throwing balls out of bounds. That really says something about OMAR, his receivers, and probably most importantly our offensive system/scheme.
LET THE GAMES BEGIN,......PLEASE!!!!
More important than completion % though, is where the ball is. It's not just to his WRs so they can make the catch. The ball is dead on perfect where it needs to be for them to EASILY make the catch, and continue running for YAC.
Obviously Jacobs doesn't have the success yet of some of the greats, but I think I would argue that at this point Omar is the best player in BG football history. Hopefully his team's success will vault him up with the other greatest players in BG's history.
