BGSU opens the season on September 2 at the UIC Invitational where they will square off with Denver, Illinois-Chicago, College of Charleston and James Madison, before returning home on Sept. 7 as they host the University of Dayton.

Denise Van De Walle enters her 22nd season as head coach of the Bowling Green State University volleyball program, looking to continue a long-standing tradition of success.

Van De Walle, the dean of Mid-American Conference volleyball coaches, is also the winningest mentor in conference history.

Since joining BGSU, Van De Walle has built a highly competitive program that ranks as one of the best in the MAC and the midwest, both on and off the court. Van De Walle has manufactured an overall record of 380-269 (.586) and has led the Brown and Orange to a winning season in 14 of the last 18 years, including 10 seasons of 20-plus wins and a 30-win campaign. BG has qualified for the MAC’s postseason gathering 12 of the last 15 years.

Her 380 overall wins since assuming the helm are the most of any conference coach, and her total of 177 MAC wins since coming to BG are the third-most of any MAC mentor in history.

I know '87 will vouch for the success Coach Van De Walle has had....she is truly a great asset to BGSU. In an era where coaches take off for more $$ or fame, Van De Walle has stuck around. I love seeing that kind of loyalty!
