BGSU-Ph.D....and the talking heads keep on talking...but that is exactly what I was saying.

The Big 10 are the media darlings every year.

Talking heads always have an opinion and most of the time the opinion is that BG or the top MAC teams can't compete, yet you are listening to them now?

Look at the computer rankings at the end of last season. Again, the Big 10 wasn't the top conference.

Media darlings at the start of the season, then the bridesmaids at the end.

Again stupid to even have this discussion of over/under rated at this point in time.

Not a single team has taken a snap. Until the games are being played, it is fruitless to say one team, division, or conference is better than the other.

It is what we do on sports boards, but doesn't amount to anything more that shooting the breeze.

Personally, I cannot even remember the last time that the Big10 was rated this highly going into the season. Every year for the past 4-5 it seems as though everyone's talked about the Big10 as having a down year. It was always thought the Big 10 was PSU, OSU, and UM. Since PSU has been down lately I cannot remember the Big 10 getting preseason props.

This year is different because Iowa has hoisted itself to national prominence. Not only that, but Iowa, OSU, UM, and Purdue all return a LOT of talent. I think its a toss up between the Big 10 and the SEC as who's the best conference this year.

We have this same discussion going on in two different threads (my fault). Let us keep it in this one. I wrote elsewhere:

Maybe we listen to different talking heads, but my recollection heading into last year was that most were calling the SEC the number one conference (this had been the case for many years in a row), followed by the Big 12. Then, it was a toss-up between the ACC and Big Ten for the 3rd and 4th spots.

I'm not "listening" to anyone. I'm simply providing links.
