Hey guys...ESPN has the Blue Ribbon team previews open for free till the 14th. Check it out. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/stor ... Ptixtt#mac
At the very beginning, this made me smile:
"So if Meyer was able to move on after his success, you might wonder why Brandon is back with the Falcons this season.
"It's because he doesn't want to go anywhere else.
"'People compare me to Urban, but he was on the fast track,' said Brandon, who joined BGSU five years ago with Meyer as the team's offensive coordinator. 'I'm happy to stay at Bowling Green as long as they'll have me.'"

he was offered a position at unlv for around $600,000/year if i remember correctly, which he turned down. granted, unlv is god awful, but thats what a good coach does, turns a bad team into a good one. im pretty sure thats well over twice what he makes at bg. anyone know the exact number?Julius Erving wrote:You guys don't actually believe that, do you?
If the right job opened up, I don't we'll have GB for more than another year or 2.

I'm sure it's paltry compared to most top 25 programs. It should be a priority to pay our coaches more to keep them as soon as possible. We did it with Ribeau...why not with FB coaches? I know it's apples and oranges but they both do great things for the university (granted Ribeau's job is more important).mk455 wrote:he was offered a position at unlv for around $600,000/year if i remember correctly, which he turned down. granted, unlv is god awful, but thats what a good coach does, turns a bad team into a good one. im pretty sure thats well over twice what he makes at bg. anyone know the exact number?Julius Erving wrote:You guys don't actually believe that, do you?

It seems to me that Nevada-Las Vegas is an awful big challenge. I suspect that was part of Brandon's thinking. Why not hold out of a job where the chances of success are stronger?mk455 wrote:he was offered a position at unlv for around $600,000/year if i remember correctly, which he turned down. granted, unlv is god awful, but thats what a good coach does, turns a bad team into a good one. im pretty sure thats well over twice what he makes at bg. anyone know the exact number?Julius Erving wrote:You guys don't actually believe that, do you?
