Tent 10/8!!!

Post by ZiggyZoomba »

Well, as of right now, there will be an ay-ziggy-zoomba.com tent for the OU game on 10/8!!

I'm still trying to decide whether it would be a good idea to get a second tent date for the BG/UT game on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving...

The 8th is on though!!! Chili cookoff??? Who's ready to try to defeat my chili???

Ah, the one game that's absolutely off my list of possibilities. That's okay, I wouldn't eat your chili anyway!

I promise it'll be better than that stuff from that place on 795! Oh wait, or was that chicken noodle soup??

Hey, I think you had more chicken in your un-ordered chicken noodle soup than I did on my grilled chicken sandwich!

10/8 sounds great. I am pretty confident I will be making the trip up. Also sounds like a good time for a chili cook-off. I'm a reigning champion down here in lexington so I am definitly ready to take you on Grant. Though with the 90+ temps down here, the lack of a basement (UK Perigrine doesnt have one either) and keeping my A/C set at 78 I don't think I will have a homebrew made to bring up, just have to bring a bottle of bourbon :D . (I could use about 2 weeks of sub 70 weather for several reasons, though maybe I could use the cold room at work and make a lager)

We've been brewing all summer. We put it in a closet. We set our fermentation bucket in a tub of ice water...not as great as sub 70's weather would be, but it still seems to taste pretty good.

what temp were you able to keep the fermentor around. I have heard that wrapping a wet towel around the fermentor can keep it about 10 degrees cooler than the air temp. Just need to find a place to keep the floor from getting all wet and aggrevating the wife.

We were able to keep it around 70* with the A/C set at 77*. That was the external temperature on one of those crystal thermometers that tape on the outside of the bucket. Unfortunately having the bucket sit in the water caused that thermometer to peel off. We just put a batch into primary about an hour ago, and we'll just be guessing that its still in that temperature range. In the past we've also done the damp towel thing...I may go wrap a towel on it right now actually...

Awesome

Post by BGSU Crazy Fan 58 »

Looking forward to the tent tailgate. I'll be staying on campus to go the game, as should most students if they're true football fans. I believe my parents are also coming up to go to that game so it'll be cool to show them the festivities going on in the tent. Thanks for doing this Grant, should be a good time. I can't wait, especially since I missed last year's tent, as I was unaware of AZZ.com at the time. Hope to see lots of Falcon Fans there!

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. Grant...will there be electricity in the tent?
