B!G night for former falcons
Pittsburgh vs. Philadelphia on MNF tonight. We will most likely get to see Swish attempt some kicks in the second half and maybe even some kickoffs. I haven't heard if the Predator is going to get any PT in the steelers secondary but I think they have him at safety in camp so look for him there in the 4th. We'll also hopefully get to see Redd at receiver for the iggles. If we're lucky the stars will align for our alumni to turn some heads tonight like Cole did on Saturday. Game time is 8:00 on ESPN and ESPNHD.
Roll Along!
He'll play tonight, though I'm not sure how much.
He was at his best Friday, pulling in a couple of passes from Ben Roethlisberger, including a fingertip grab in front of cornerback Willie Williams, and a deep touchdown toss from Charlie Batch. Yesterday, he broke nicely on a deep ball by Roethlisberger and pulled it in for a touchdown in front of safety Janssen Patton.

Swish just nailed a 46 yarder and I mean nailed. It had 10 yards to spare and was dead center.
Patton has not played yet.
Redd was not listed in the pre-game rundown of Philly's top 8 receivers...and that's minus T.O. and Pinkston. I'm not sure if he's still with the team or if he even dressed.

Sorry J4H, I didn't see your topic. IMO, though, my thread title was pure genious so I will ravenously oppose all criticisms.

I saw that graphic as well. But on the Eagles website ( www.philadelphiaeagles.com ), he is listed third at one WR, behind T.O. and some other guy. So he should have been on the second team tonight.Jacobs4Heisman wrote: Redd was not listed in the pre-game rundown of Philly's top 8 receivers...and that's minus T.O. and Pinkston. Oh, if you go to the Eagles website, be sure to check out the cheerleaders!

...and Patton has a tackle now. It's a hat trick for former Falcons!

Patton's name was mentioned at least 3 times in the last 5 minutes of the game for good plays - never for bad ones. I didn't see the plays directly because I had a hard time folloing the Pukesburgh D, but it still is pretty cool to hear: "pass broken up by Jansen Patton out of Bowling Green!"

I think Patton was actually in, at least on special teams, fairly early in the game. I saw a #37 make a tackle and the name on the jersey sure looked like "Patton", but the roster has him in the 20's or so... then at the very end, I saw a close-up, and he was in fact wearing #37. (One of the times I saw him, he was first down on a punt that went for a touchback. It looked like the punt was well in the endzone, but he was there to try to make a play on it.)
Getting brought back for another year of camp speaks alot toward his potential, though he's still got a ways to go. Good luck to all Falcons in the weeks ahead! (Especially that blond-haired "career Falcon" down in ATL!)

Suisham ended up with a beautiful FG and an extra point (he should be well practiced at those).
Redd had I think 2 catches -- the one at the end of the first half and a nice 15 yard out during the final drive.
Patton had 2 pass breakups and was very involved in coverage on the final drive.
I doubt that Pittsburgh will carry two kickers but invariably some team will be looking for a kicker at some point and he looks like a viable NFL kicker right now (I never thought I'd say that 2 years ago)
Unfortunately for Patton, He's probably practice squad bound or headed for a developmental league. Pittsburgh is deep with young talent in the secondary.
Redd is a crapshoot to me. He looks good and played well in Europe, but the eagles young talent looked very good at WR tonight. It may very well depend on T.O. Hopefully the guy stays out and Redd can grab the 5th WR spot. The wild card is that Philly is expected to sign a WR to replace Pinkston. If that happens, I would assume Redd would get bumped to the practice squad and hopefully scooped up by another team.
Overall it was a good night for the guys. I don't think any of them made a bad play all night and each were involved in some action. Hopefully they can keep making cuts and stick in the league.
Roll Along!
