How did...

Post by hammb »

Miami get thrashed by this Michigan team? This is the first chance I've had to really watch Michigan, and wow...they aren't that good.

Their secondary looks to be a step slow against SDSU. Sure, SDSU has a good scheme and good WRs, but their secondary just looks lost.

They have a very talented QB, who is a true frosh and makes true frosh mistakes.

They have about 5 mediocre tailbacks. All of them will get the yards their line gives them, but don't really make people miss. Their OL is stout, but the RBs don't make the most of it.

They really look to be poorly coached today as well, as Carr is rotating RBs & QBs in and out trying to find something that works. Nobody has a shot to get a rythmn.

C'mon SDSU! Let's win one for the little guy! Although, I'm very disappointed that Miami didn't perform better against this team. I really would think they could move the ball on this secondary.

Yeah, for a team I thought had every bit as good a chance to win the nat'l title, they sure suck.

That game could have been a lot different, but it was one of those days for Miami. When the score was 24-10, Miami was in the Michigan redzone and threw an interception which was returned 88 yds for a td. On the day Miami had seven turnovers I believe. Miami choked

I don't think Miami is, either.

You are probably right about that too.

UM won, but they're going to be after L. Carr's rear in Ann Arbor.

U-M's offense seems to either be bitten by a true frosh mistake, or when he "clicks", the WRs that should be bailing him out are dropping (or worse, tipping!) passes. And they're trying to force a running game that just doesn't seem to want to be there yet. I've seen parts of all 3 of their games, and the defense that gave Miami(OH) fits stopped showing up late in the first half of the ND game.

Anyway, did anyone see the cheap shot at the end of that game? Henne took a knee (after dropping back to burn a few more seconds) and an Aztec put his head down, took a few more steps and went helmet to helmet on him as he knelt. SDSU's coach seemed like a decent guy (he was certainly entertaining!), I hope he does something about that. Crap like that has no place in football.

It was a cheap shot. It was a late hit.

But I will defend that defensive player on the note that Henne hesitated in his kneel down. That defensive player is trying to get to the ball, and while Henne is curled up to kneel the ball happens to be near his helmet. If Henne doesn't want to get popped he shouldn't hesitate. There was no point in it whatsoever, as it wasn't needed. It was a good call to be a penalty as it was about 2 steps late, but jarring that ball loose was his team's only shot at that point, and he had an opportunity to do so.

A boneheaded play, but Henne brought it upon himself.

I don't think Miami is great, but they are not bad, and still better than Marshall, which is even worse than Michigan, OSU, and Miami.

Ohio State squeaked by Marshall.
Ohio State spanked Cincinnati.
Cincinnati spanked Miami

I know some Marshall fans are talking seriously of an 0-4 start. But I'd put my money on Marshall.

I'm picking Marshall. Given my track record this year, the rest of you should pick Miami.
