Barons to play at Ice Arena

Post by TG1996 »

Stumbled on this, don't know if anyone else had heard/read about it. Pretty cool chance for some Barons to "come home".

Actually these guys are not the NHL-minor league Cleveland Barons. (www.clevelandbarons.net)

I don't know the right terms, but this is a junior hockey team that plays at Strongsville's Iceland USA. A few of their alumni have gone on to play hockey at Bowling Green, and one of their players has apparently committed to attend BG in two years.

This event is the same day as the Brown/Orange Scrimmage now known as the Falcon Face-Off! It is after the Falcon's pre-season scrimmage which starts at 4:00. It's also a chance to watch future Falcon Jacob Cepis in action!! Thanks TG1996 for posting this!!! Awesome opportunity to do some "scouting" in our own rink!!!

ROCK THE RINK BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

This is a nice opportunity to showcase Falcon Hockey to the Soo Indians team as well as Cleveland Barons. I don't think we've had anybody sign from the Soo. I see they have quite a few players from the Detroit area. Should be some parental units at the Ice Arena. Let's impress them.
All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.

As stated this is a great move by Falcon Hockey to invite these Junior B teams in. These are talented young players and we can use this as a recruiting type situation. I am sure all the kiddies will get a tour of campus or at the very least the alumni room and the facilities at the ice arena. . .
