So you can forgive them for getting Metz' graph CORRECT in the freshman paper on Friday and getting it INCORRECT in the first "real" edition today.

BTW Metz - Is Xxxx really a source?

Can we get mad at the dolts from ESPN if our own students can't get it right?

That's what happens when you have copy editors that don't know much/anything about sports copy editing the stories.

What graph are you refering to? If it's the one on the front about Building Dreams, I didn't do that! Either way, I had to leave at 7pm last night so I didn't get the chance to look over the paper before it went to production. Xxxx is not really a source and I hate seeing that more than everyone who nit picks at the paper.

This is what I'm talking about. This would not be good at all. Bad for moral too. You would think that as soon as a rich alum donates the kind of money to get a project like this started that there would be a small rush of others following suit and get on the bandwagon. Are big donors really that scarce at BG or what? Can we get our few guys we got in the NFL to pitch in a little? All I know is that if something doesnt happen within the next few weeks , I'd expect there's gonna be a no go for this Sebo Center. :ugh:

He can't. For some reason it's starting to seem like nothing BG does will ever be good enough for him. The females are too short, our men's basketball coach is the reason for every player that leaves, the SEBO will never be built, and the end of the world is tomorrow.

Scott M. is the only NFL guy we have that is really assured of even being employed 1 month from now. As a rookie draft pick and with his versatility he's pretty much a lock for the roster. None of the other NFL guys we have are roster locks as of right now.

Even if they do make the roster none of our NFL guys will be making more than 200k a year. Sure that's much better money than I make, but its not the kind of money that's going to allow somebody to make an overwhelmingly large donation to the U.

I would imagine that our NFL guys, as of right now, are not among the top 5% of wealthiest BG alums in the working world right now. There have to be a lot of former business majors, etc, who are making far more than what our fringe NFL players are making.

Just because they were athletes at BG they should not be expected to foot the bill for athletic department spending.

I figured out what graphic you were talking about!! I made the graphic with the streets and stuff, but I didn't place it on the page, hence it was not my fault

But making 10 bucks an hour is going to make that quite difficult. I guess your right , its not realistic for any of our NFL guys to donate anything unless that become a star and are getting millions. I"m just surprised that only one person has donated anything to the athletic dept. Is it the fact that BG doesn't graduate many people with the kind of degrees that would eventually earn them that kind of money to even think about donating? This is probably where we are so far behind schools like OSU and Michigan and other BCS schools.

Falconboy,

It doesn't matter HOW MUCH you give. What matters is that YOU GIVE.

Every little bit helps. $10 may not sound like much. But when you get 100 $10 donations you have $1,000.

So you make $10 an hour. So, you donate 12 hours a year (1 hour each month) to the Falcon Club (or your favorite BGSU cause) = $120. Keep the remaining 2068 hours for yourself.

You don't have to be Bob Sebo or Kermit Stroh to have an impact.

Good post Transfer. I know it is not related , scholarship fund and building fund, but last season I received a Falcon Club membership as a birthday present. My $100 present went to help falcon athletics. This year I was able to save up some money and renewed my membership despite not having a full time job (I work 3-4 jobs when they fit my schedule) and being a poor graduate student.

Every little bit does help.

Amen Brotha. What if all 20,000 (est) who are enrolled right now donate 100 dollars the year after they graduate? thats 2,000,000 bucks not counting any large donations like the Sebo gift. What if everybody donated that much a year like my dad does? That's a continual stream of income that could be used for Athletics as well as for far more important things like hiring the best profs and administrators money can buy to continue running a top notch academic institution. Complaining that we don't have enough money does not pay Money B's salary =)

Everyday, I empty all of the change in my pockets into an old Gatorade jar (actually thee Gatorade jars - one for quarters, one for dimes and nickels, and one for pennies). Last year, I bought Christmas presents for my nieces and nephews with the $600 I saved. You may not be as crazy as I am about sorting your change Falconboy, but there's an idea for you.
