NCAA football 06 tips....

Post by Falconboy »

Try using the right analog stick ,and push up when rushing the ball in a crowd it prevents mostly the oppostion from stripping you of the ball. Also choosing the right defense for the what the offensive lineup has is cruical and istn't an exact science either. I had a tough time on D cuz I had to learn all over again that X (on ps2) is now speed burst on both sides of the ball now with O as the switch player button. Took me forever to get a hang of that.

With Omar or any other mobile QB, option option option option.

The best pass route is smash corners out of a shotgun 4-wide set. 3 out of 4 times the corner route will be wide open for a 30 yd gain minimum. If you have speedy receivers and throw to the far side of the field, TD's are easy to get once you can back the D into a zone by running a lot of options.

As far as running plays, the only runs I use are the QB option choice, and shotgun speed options.

As far as defense, if you match up to the number of receivers (4-3 against 2 wide-outs, nickel against 3 wideouts and so on), and play the basic zone package with a few blitzes sprinkled in, you should be gang tackling on every run play.

i was just thinking and I had my memory card updated with the names. What may have happened was he updated the player rankings as well. Temples back runs a 91 in mine...how about yours?

There hasn't been a Temple back worth a 91 since ... since ...

at least NCAA 2006 is incredibly realistic!

i just finished my second season as Boise State (naturally). went 12-0. average score 131-4. had two WRs with more than 1,000 receiving yards. a QB (Zabransky) with 4,100 yards, over 40 TDs, 2 INTs (Omar numbers, oddly).

my RB was in his sophomore year of "race for the heisman." rushed for just under 5,000 yards, had 103 TDs on the ground, plus another 500 yards receiving and 6 receiving TDs. two fumbles all year, one lost.

he finished second to an Oklahoma RB who had 1,200 yards rushing 400 yards receiving.

and BSU? finished the regular season #5 in the polls, ended up in the orange bowl against an 8-4 Pittsburgh team.

it rained.
:wah:

frankly, i'm hoping next year's NCAA is LESS realistic...
:axe:

stupid game so close to stupid reality...

its a freakin awesome game, i play on ALL-American and then i adjust the AI accordingly, so i make it easier for the computer to move the ball on me, also keep in mind that 7 or 8 of BG games are going to be massive blowouts anyway...
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

I actually like the fact that it's more realistic in how the NCAA (and BCS) works. It makes you work for the national championships instead of letting any fool who goes undefeated as Buffalo go to the national championship game his first season.
