Women's soccer in Flagstaff is oh, so tempting...

Post by Bleeding Orange »

I just noticed on BGSUFalcons.com that the women's soccer team is playing Northern Arizona on Fri., Sept. 2. First of all, I hate soccer.

So, I am left wondering why I am SERIOUSLY considering making the four hour drive from Tucson to Flagstaff to see this game! Has my Flacon depravation run THAT deep?!?!

Somebody please help me! I must admit that I really like the idea of being there to support BG athletes so far away from home - despite the fact that soccer isn't a real sport.

Speaking of making trips, Phoenix alumni are having several football watch parties. You should take the day to drive out and hang with other desert birds.

Matt, Go to the game. Let your inner Falcon take control. You can be like the guy at the football games who flapps his arms up and down  Seriously, with a trip that long I am sure the ladies would love to see some more orange and brown in the stands. And flagstaff is a nice place too so you can see the sights before/after the game.

If you have the time Bleeding Orange, I would recommend making the trip. If you do go, make yourself seen by wearing your BG attire. The team will likely be excited to see a BG fan out in Arizona. Who knows, you may even meet other Arizona BG fans that show or BG soccer parents that may have made the trip.

Also in case you're interested in PGY's suggestion, here is the information for the Phoenix watch party.

Matt,

You MUST go....Coach Richards has done an awesome job with this program and they are the defending MAC Tourney Champs!

It may not be football, hoops or hockey, but Coach and the team would greatly appreciate seeing some orange there! If you go, please tell Coach Richards I said Hi. :D They are a fun team to watch as well.

"Falconitis"....no known cure nor do we want one discovered. I think you have a raging case of Falconitis!

BTW, I think soccer is a real sport....one must be in pretty good shape to play that game.

GO FALCONS!!

Go to the game, guy.

It's a great opportunity to network in your new state. Whether you like soccer or not, you'll never know what opportunity you might miss. Wear the orange and brown proudly for all of us. There have to be some BGSU grads around Flagstaff. The alumni website might be able to help you locate some folks ahead of time.

And, I'm sure the ladies will appreciate you.

What could make a better way to spend a day?

I think I'm going to go. It will be a good opportunity for me to get out of Tucson and process the first couple of very stressful weeks of graduate school. It will be very comforting to see the brown and orange in person again, too! Thanks everyone!

Bleeding Orange,

In case you're interested, I just noticed Arizona's BG Alumni Chapter is having a watch party this weekend for the Wisconsin game. I assume Tom will have BG souvenir door prizes available that I will also have at the Kentucky party. The door prizes alone may be worth the trip, not to mention you can drink a few brews with other Falcon fans while you cheer on BG. I hope to have a good turn out in Lexington, but if not, then more chances for PGY and myself to take home some of the cool door prizes.

Well, unfortunately due to the fact that I live below the poverty line (stupid graduate school... :? ) combined with $3.00 gas prices, I'm not going to be able to make this trip tomorrow. :(

I really wanted to, but Katrina is affecting us in some way, I suppose.

UK, I will look into going up to Scottsdale to watch a game with the Alumni chapter at some point this year, but Sat. really isn't an option. I'd have to leave here at about 7 AM to make it up there by gametime, and that just ain't happenin' on a saturday. The game is on here in Arizona at NINE AM! I've only started drinking that early once in my life, but I guess there is a second time for everything, no? Well, even if there isn't there is for this! 8)
