Need some names please for the NIU contest.

Hey Falcons:

Give me a couple of names on each side of the ball that could be difference makers that I may not be familiar with.
And no fair saying Devon Parks from Libertyville IL.
I am painfully aware of him.

Not sure how familiar you are with our team, so I'll give an overview.

Omar Jacobs takes over for Harris at QB. He's stood on the sidelines and watched for 2 years and is better now than J5 was as a soph. He's very athletic, has a strong arm, and did not get rattled at all at Oklahoma. I expect a big game from him.

Backs and receivers are very good and very deep. Cole Magner has been hurt and not put up huge numbers in the first two games. Charles Sharon is becoming a star at receiver. P.J. Pope and B.J. Lane return at running back and run behind a very good line staring Scott Mruczkowski at center.

On defense, the front four has been a little disappointing so far IMO, but Matt Leininger returns from suspension to take over for Brad Williams at DT. Linebackers are small, but quick. Keon Newson has been unreal in the first two games. A pick returned for a TD versus Oklahoma and two forced fumbles. NIU receivers and backs better hold onto the ball around him or he will rip it out. An outstanding player.

Shaun Suisham has been much better in the kicking game. He has kicked 4 field goals and has regularly booted kickoffs through the endzone.

Good luck to NIU this weekend. I think it is a matchup of the two best teams in the MAC. Any word on Haldi yet??

The secret status of Josh Haldi may rival that of "deep throat" from the Watergate era.
Not the film, you sick bastards!
All kidding aside, I'd be very surprised if NIU showed its hand prior to kick off.
And even if Haldi plays, how effective can a QB be after a long lay off?
NIU fans are quite thankful this game is in DeKalb.
But will that fact matter?

Hopefully it being in Dekalb won't matter NEARLY as much as it did 2 years ago...

I think the only ones that will be affected by the NIU crowd are the BG faithful making the trip. The team has played in 3 pretty noisy, hostile environments since the last time they were in Dekalb, (Purdue, OSU, OU) and has performed well in all. The noise in Dekalb should not compare to any of the previous places.

Those that were at Gameday last year should be sure to wear the hard hats that they were giving out, and you might want to purchase a mouth guard.
