I cna't wait for b-ball!!!!

Post by Bleeding Orange »

Holy crap! I have been waiting for months for the women's basketball season to start! The last game I attended was in the Gund when we lost in the championship game to EMU and got screwed out of an NIT invitation. That game was preceded by what are without a doubt two of the best games I have ever seen in ANY sport at ANY level!

I'm not sure that much is going to stop us from bringing home the MAC title this year! We are quickly becoming one of the premier women's basketball program not only in the MAC, but in the nation!

Many of us claim to be true Falcon fans; however, it is easy to support men's basketball and football. Still if you are not out there supporting these fine women just as much as you support the big-two (as I like to call them), you are but a pretender.

For the sake of just-ness, get out there this year and let the ladies know that they are just as important to this univeristy as ANY other sport! And let's SHOW UP in Columbus!!!!!!!!!!!!

Between work, band and being a fan, I can proudly say I didn't miss a home game last year! They definitely have the ability to win the MAC Tourney this year so I can't wait for the season to start either! It's going to be a great one!

Ive been to many womens games last year, sadly, i will miss the begining of basketball and hockey season this year being down here in Cinci till Xmas, bu none the less, our womens team has a great history of being very good. It looks like we are getting back to that point.

I took the 2 Freaklings down to the Gund for that BG/WMU tourney game last year and then the Title game with Class of 61. I will try like heck to make at least 5 or 6 women's games this yr. We still have work to do but Coach Miller and staff have this team poised to do huge things...VERY exciting!!

"TOGETHER WE ATTACK".

Get out and support this team....they are awesome to watch and will do well!

As far as pretender BG fans, that is something I am not. I support EVERY BG team and get to as many games as possible...but that's just me.

GO BG!~

Actually buddy, there are only 2 games in BG before December 30th so you won't miss much! One is an exhibition game, the other is Youngstown St. On the 30th they play Bucknell and then don't have another home game til Eastern Michigan on January 12th. You will have plenty of time to watch the ladies run over the MAC...

Attendance Goal This Year

Post by Falconboy »

Lets have a goal of getting 1,000 people to show up for a lady falcon home game. I'm not sure if thats too much to ask for we gotta do better than last year. 300 people showing up when we were doing excellent last year is just sad. Keep working on your post game Jill. :D

I'm a super-senior, and I do consider myself an all-sport fan when it comes to BG. The one sport I do have a hard time with, though is soccer. This has nothing to do with our team but the fact that I abhore soccer in all of its forms. Hope that doesn't ruin the mystique...

Not at all, you are entitled to take as many senior years as you like. I personally had two. Though sometimes I classify my 5.3 years as an undergraduate as having had two junior years and 1.3 senior years. Depends on my mood. I got to campus in fall '92 declaring I would stay five years. I never understood people wanting to get out in three years, or being obsessed with four years. I was having too much fun.

I didn't miss a home game of any kind until '97 when I took a bus trip to see the men's team lose to Miami and Ohio. Men and women's Bball, soccer, hockey, football, most of the volleyball games several years. I skipped class for baseball. I skipped workouts for swim and dive events. I really wanted to get to more gymnastics my last few years, but didn't. I'm hoping to break my road-trip jinx at some point. I am still 1-12-1 on the road in watching BGSU teams.

Now that Whit is on the team I'm hoping to convince Ed to get seasons this year. But even if I can't, we should be at most of the Saturday games home and away. I am really excired about this year's team, I can't wait for it to start.

That would be amazing to see 1000 in there for the first game. I remember turning around during games last year while the team was on a roll and seeing a couple hundred in the stands. With all the returners and the newcomers this year, this team is headed in the right direction and needs some fan support now! 1000 is like 1/4 of AA too so I will agree it's not too much to ask for.

Im very excited about the upcoming year, but very curious as well. Im worried about the team speed and the point guard position. MAC champs is still my prediction, though!!

The only thing to worry about at the PG position is who to start. Kate Achter could get the call over Julie Gompers but I would hate to see that. Gompers can shoot the lights out. With getting some starts and serious playing time she could be an amazing player IMO. Yeah Austin and Wenzel leaving kind of hurts, but the other girls now have a year of experience in the league and I don't think there is anything to worry about. If anything has changed from last year, the team probably got better!
