I have to agree. Not too many teams get the chance to play against 260 lb FBs! How much time does Rentmeester get? He's not exactly small either.

Also,

I didnt know it was illegal to state my opinion. Last time I thought, this was the United States and we were all entitled to one. I said I wasn't impressed with camp Randall and the atmosphere in UW. 3/4 of you bashing me havent even been there yet.

He set himself up for that one. With those pictures, I cannot believe he is playing in the first game.

Tele...

You must have been one of the OSU fans I was throwing batteries at that night (Myles, BAB, and Oscoe will know this is a reference to a post on BM).

I hope I hit you.

Do you know the facts and circumstances surrounding the fight? Tell us all you know about the guy pictured. How about his previous encounters with the police and law enforcement. Football players are so high profile (as they should be). I'm not defending Stanley's actions (as I only know about half of the story). Tell us all youi know about this "victim" in the picture. I'd really like to learn more.

Straying back on topic (UW vs. MAC)

Post by BigAppleBucky »

Here are the games (all won by the Badgers):

1989 23-10 Toledo
1990 24-7 Ball State
(I believe those were the only two wins the team had those two seasons)

1991 21-6 Eastern Michigan
1992 39-18 BG
(UW had 5-6 records those two seasons. Improved, but a losing team.)

1994 56-0 Eastern Michigan (Bowl team)

1996 24-3 Eastern Michigan (Won a minor bowl that season)

1998 48-0 Ohio
1999 50-10 Ball State
(Two winning Rose Bowl seasons)

2000 19-7 Western Michigan
(Good UW team hit with suspensions of 13 starters 2 hours before kickoff. WMU was a very decent team that season. Josh Hunt, who'd never played before - and seldom after - returned a punt 80 yards for a UW TD.)

2002 24-21 Northern Illionois
(Here was a real stinker against a good MAC team. UW went 8-6 that season, but easily could have lost this game. NIU sacked Bollinger ten times and a pass interference penalty late gave the Badgers a chance to win. Great effort by Turner of NIU, IIRC.)

2003 48-31 Akron
(Charly Frei was really good in this game. Close until UW scored on two long TD plays late. This game, maybe more than any, spelled the end of Keven Cosgrove as UW's defensive coordinator.)

2004 34-6 Central Florida
( So-so win. Anthony Davis injured and out in the second quarter. Game was actually close until about the mid third quarter.)
Bring back the Bucky Wagon, and
ON, WISCONSIN!

I don't have the energy to look it up, but I recall reading that Wisconsin actually doesn't have a great home field advantage (a UW alum here confirms that; I believe her quote was "We don't do a good job of defending Camp Randall."). The platitudes are more for the gameday atmosphere than actually winning percentage.

I respect your opinion, but how in the world can you defend someone who beat the crap out of a woman?

Teke- We would not have reacted so strongly had you replied in a more respectful way then to make an offending comment as calling something "gay." I wish that BG had the student following that Wisky did, but I have a feeling we're getting that back.

I think we're ready to kick off, everyone's getting a little punchy...

You got me. All I know about the victim is that he got his ass kicked. Repeatedly. Do I need to know more? Please enlighten me. Is there something I'm missing that makes shoving a chick around and then beating a guy's head in for standing up for her that's all right because the guy's a trouble maker? And don't play the "Booker's high profile because he's a football player" card. The large red stain on his shirt shows me he's a target for other reasons. Which of your other players are likely to be high profile enough to hit women and start fights? I like to take pictures of crowds and I want to know which ones I should focus on Saturday night after the game.
