I get the feeling someone didn't like Ed Whipple.
I'll second that. Ah, memories. Bad ones.

I never really had a problem with Dr. Whipple. Maybe you'd like to expand a bit?

The problem with It's the Journey... and Whipple is that Whipple is an administrator, and ItJ... has an allergic recation to administrators - breaking out in hives, seizures, bleeding from the anus. You know, the usual. It is a common ailment of people who stick around an institution for far too long.

Either that, or it could just be that he is a massive douche. My guess is its a little of both...

All I know is grad students and faculty I associated with (History, Psych, Soc., PoliSci) thought he was a feeble stuffed PC shirt (and most of this people are liberals). They also basically hate administrators (especially those with "Higher Ed" degrees, and I can't blame them).

BG 31 Wisconsin 28. It will have a tense ending either a come from behind or stave aoff a threat from midfield as time runs out.

Need to check the forecast if it rains though. Mobile proved nothing stops our "O" and they will be more ground-reliant....then, BG 35 Wisconsin 21

I got a great feeling about this game. Our excellent passing game against their weak, inexperienced secondary should equal big points.

Anybody who thinks your crappy defense can hold anybody to 17 pts or less has been hit one too many times with an iron....

UW 31
BG 28

BG 49 SEMO 10
BG 70 Temple 16
BG 38 CMU 14
BG 51 BSU 13
BG 41 Ohio 16
BG 52 WMU 0

It happened 6 times last year (even though the iron reference is well played). I realize these teams are all terrible, but you didn't say any decent team -- you said anybody. And while our defense probably will be crappy, your offense is equally crappy. Do some research next time before you throw around meaningless jabs.

To paraphrase your thoughts Bucky:

Anybody who thinks your crappy offense is gonna score 31 points or more has been beat up one too many times by a Wisconsin football player.

Also,
Anybody who thinks your inexperienced defense is going to hold our potent offense to just 28 points is spending too much time out in the barn with farm animals.

We won't win this game because of our defense. We will win it because of our offense.

Granted, we may not be able to stop you from scoring, but I really don't believe your defense can stop us from running the ball. If we do that, it will really shorten the game. If the game is shortened, you won't have the ball as often and won't score as much.

I see this game as being really close. The first team to make a big mistake that leads to points is probably the one that is going to lose. Looking at your history, you guys have one really nice win over Purdue. Other than that, I only see a bunch of near misses against solid programs. I am not counting wins against SE whatever wherever or other MAC schools because I don't see them as big time wins.

This one will be close but I just don't see you guys getting it done.

IMO, any Wisconsin fan relying on their offense to win this game is kidding themselves. Sure our defense will probably be bad, but the Wisconsin offense has been nothing short of inept and is led by a QB that is in the bottom quarter of all of D1 as far as I'm concerned.

And as far as the game slowing down thing, that works both ways. If you slow the game down it doesn't just mean less points for us, it means less points for you too.

Surely someone will reply with Calhoun this and Calhoun that. He may be God's gift to Wisconsin as your whole board believes, but until I see him play some football, i wouldn't pin all my football hopes and dreams on him.
He may very well rack up 200 yards against us, but he's gonna have to do it against 8-9 in the box until Stocco can make a pass or two.

The game will be a close one methinks, but not because Wisconsin's offense can score with us.

Oh, we'll get it done. 41-27, Falcons. Our defense is gonna be much better than you and many here think. You'll see in 4 days...96 hours...5,760 minutes...

Only Purdue was a nice win? The only near miss I see is losing 24-17 at Ohio State...and we had the ball in OSU territory at the end of the game with a chance to win.

We've beaten NW twice...and you play them almost every year. Big 10 school.

We kicked the crap outta Missouri two straight years...including the one year they lost to Oklahoma, 42-35. Big 12 school

We beat up Kansas...still not a BCS heavyweight but a BCS team no doubt. Big 12 school

We are 8-2 vs the BCS since 2001...8 of those games on the road.

If you thought UNLV was tough, you are in for a big ole treat. :D

GO FALCONS!! Time to stop talking and start rockin.
