NEO Watch Party?

Post by FalconKing »

Is there one? Would anyone be interested in getting a crew together to watch the game on Saturday? I am actually surprised the Alumni Association isn't doing something for this...oh wait, they do watch parties for when the games are in BG!

Well, anyone interested?

Carie Marchal was in the band with me, I live in Elyria...and I can't go anywhere because the wife is working that morning.

FWIW - I convinced the spouse that our recently ruined partially finished basement chould be converted into an orange and brown paradise for sports watchery (i think i made that word up). We just tore out the carpet and will be painting the cement floor tan (porch paint) and we will be adding various orange and brown accessories as we get the moo-lah. OUr first purchase for the BG room was a folding disc sofa (it's like a papasan chair but wider) It is brown. The orange pillows and tan disc chairs are next, then the bean bags, and the faux fur rug....

I need to buy some orange and brown paint.

I got a neat flier about this from the alumni office.

Watch parties are also planned in:

Buffalo, N.Y. (Barrel House, 85 W. Chippewa St., downtown Buffalo)
Charlotte, N.C. (Uptown Fox and Hound, 330 North Tryon St.)
Lexington, Ky. (Buffalo Wild Wings, 1080 South Broadway)
Scottsdale, Ariz. (Fox Sports Grill, 16203 N. Scottsdale Road).

More parties are planned for future games. For example, the Boise State game will include official watch parties in: Atlanta, Buffalo, Charlotte, Dayton, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Lexington, southwest Michigan (Caledonia), Manhattan, Orange County, Scottsdale, San Diego, Stow and Maumee.

I was impressed the alumni office was able to get this many parties together.

I think Uk Peregrine might have mentioned this in the flagstaff thread but, if you have are near a watch party you should try to check it out. I know he got a bunch of stuff to pass out has door prizes, so it might be a nice way to add to ones BGSU collection. We have coffee mugs, water bottles, CD holders (car visor) and some other stuff.

Hate to "bad rap" the Cleve. area alum group, but they seem ONLY to want to do the watch party thing in bars, which I personally don't care to do....that said, when I've suggested a Cleve. alum bus trip to BG on a non Homecoming date, I've been rebuffed...told they'd "put it to the exec. board", or some such garbage.. They never got back to me with a nay or yea....I'm assuming it's a Nay!
