Now, it's understandable that folks halfway across the country (even though some claim to be college football fans and should know these kind of things) think we're in KY, but I know people in THIS STATE who don't know.
Win the National Championship? Become a major program? Hell, how about we start with letting people know what state we're in first?

My biggest BG pet Peeves:
Thinking our color scheme involves GREEN
Thinking we are Division II or I-AA
Thinking we are in Kentucky
Someone I work with thought we were I-AA, and didn't know where we were located. And he lives 2 hours away from the school, and pretends to be a college football fan.
i got a lot of this at purdue last year. my favorite was, "go back to orange county!"
needless to say, by the time the game was through, everyone is ross-ade stadium knew where bowling green is. we'll just have to let the sooners know in the same fashion.
they should know, anyway. they should some knowledge of ohio football, since their coach came out of the greatest producer of good and great coaches, northeast ohio.

In BG, KY, there happens to be a automobile manufacturing plant that happens to produce a rather sporty little vehicle. You may have heard of it. It is called the Corvette.

The best college football game I've ever seen live. The coming out party for BG as a national name. I actually got comments on my BG hat the next day in Detroit for the Aerosmith/Kiss show about how lucky we were to beat Purdue

I had a number of people at Purdue come up and ask where Bowling Green was....they were nice about it, though.
I live in Ohio State Buckeye country ( EVERY TIME I WEAR THE ORANGE AND BROWN I GET " WE BEAT U LAST SEASON ) but EVERYONE thinks Bowling Green is in Kentucky. I always get you need to root for a team in the state at least boy, it drives me nuts. But I also root for the Nets, Arizona Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, and New Jersey Devils and I dont get s**t for that
