Omar in a BOD Commercial
I was just watching television with my friends and we came across a BOD fragrance commercial. One runner looked a lot like Omar Jacobs. I told my friend I don't think it was him but it really did look a lot like him. If you see the commercial, please help verify if it is Omar or not.

I'm very sure it wasn't Omar.
If it is it would be an NCAA violation. A good friend of mine who was just a RS freshman QB at a 1AA school lost his scholarship because he got a modeling contract and was in J-Crew etc. Even though no one outside of the team even knew who he was, there are NCAA rules about endorsing products even if it has nothing to do with fact that they happen to be also be a college athlete.

Endorsement
You can actually endorse a product as long as the college player does not make money off of the endorsement. For instance Mike Bass Ford in the Cleveland area used a few of the tOSU Buckeye players to help promote a sale after tOSU won the national title. I do believe that the school received money from Mike Bass and if Omar was in the commercial he could have done it for potential heisman popularity. I do agee with you that it was not Omar however, it did look like him...a lot.

fishy
Yeah it does sound fishy and maybe it is illegal but however, the Plain Dealer did report it did not violate NCAA rules. As long as the players did not receive money they may participate in those events and as long as the college gives them premission.
